does green tea help u loose weight?

is this true, and have ne of u ever done this before? my friend heard about it and now she wants to try it. she wanted me to help her look it up a little, i thought maybe u guys could help a bit. i did some research, and all i found was about 2 studies on it. and basically the studies show that it does increase the metoblism, cuz it increases ur energy expenditure and allows ur body to burn more fat. i think it burns about 70 to 80 more claories a day, which isn’t alot. just wondering if ne of u have had a personal experience in this or not? thanx.

hay 70 to 80 calories doesnt sound too bad,, u burn the same for running a kilometer on the treadmill on around 11.0 km/h.
not bad for just having green tea!

well i,ve heard it sorta helps get the tikkas n kebabs down wen ur at an afghan restaurant, so i suppose it does help quicken the metabolism a bit i guess... hmmm,, thanx for the idea... i better include that somewhere in my day too.

11Km/hr and only 70 to 80 calories?:konfused: r u sure about this? i told my friend that i loose about 10 calories per minute of hard core running. for me thats about 300 calories a day just from running, plus i burn more calories when I do weight lifting. Important thing is to be active, I usually play soccer, hockey, or basketball with my little brother, and that really gets me sweating. so either u could drink that nasty green tea, and burn like only 70 to 80 cals or u could go out and have some fun, and burn alot more.

sadzz trust me i tried some a while back and its nasty.:( ok fine it's not that bad. i guess maybe u could get used to the taste, i don't know. personally i like my chai and coffee the best, can't live with out em. i know green tea is real good for u, but i just don't think it's worth drinking 5 times a day when all u burn is 70 to 80 calories. come to think of it, i believe the reason why people lose calories when they drink green tea is bc it tastes nasty, and u have to twitch ur mouth like a million times to get it off ur gums. ewwwwwwwwwwwwww, bad memories.

ummm,,, read my post again......

11 km/h means ur running a kilometer in about 5 - 6 mins. Hence 70 - 80 calories for running a kilometer at 11 km/h. :p thats more than 10 - 12 calories per minute mate ;)

just go to the gym mate... u'll lose about 1k calories there.. just making it there is effort
