Re: Does everything really happen for a reason?
I just posted this in the life lessons thread lol.
I do believe that everything happens for a reason. As Muslims we should hold the belief that everything is already decided for us by the Almighty. Yes we make free choices, but these choices are what leads us to what is destined for us in life.
Re: Does everything really happen for a reason?
Everything that has ever happent to me .. I dont see any reason behind It ![]()

i know and that is what inspired me to make a topic on it:)
btw it doesnt say so in Islam that everything is pre-decided for us. That's precisely why we are accountable for choices we make in life. Ofcourse nothing happens without Allah's consent but Allah asks of us to use our brain and make the right choices.
If everything was already decided then what wud be the purpose of life or the day of judgement? We can't be judged for something that was destined to be our fate.
Re: Does everything really happen for a reason?
***Its called Destiny !
Everything has a pattern and that’s why the choices we make or the steps we take lead us to what is already pre-destined.
An example , very recently I had an accident and it was a part of the road that we had already crossed but because it was meant to be we stopped the driver and told him to return to that spot to pick up something and seconds later we were in an accident. I keep repeating in my mind why we made that choice and for a silly reason (cakes:vivo:) and kicking myself for having agreed to go along with my sisters to go back when if I had been my usual self , I would have refused but this ONE time i decided to agree to go back…FATE !***

Re: Does everything really happen for a reason?
^ That's so true, usually you relate this to incidents that wouldn't normally have happened to you. For e.g. I took a new route to work one day and on that day someone banged in to my car.. thus the thinking that everything happens for a reason.
Maham - here in this world we have a concept of 'time' but for the Almighty the past, present and future are all in front of him. (Allah forgive me if I am wrong) Everything we do is our own free will, but of course it is all done in the course of the bigger picture i.e. what the Almighty has set for us.
Re: Does everything really happen for a reason?
Yes it does. There is no such thing as a coincidence.
sheynyyyyy .. it was cakes … and how can u say no to foood … ur tooo paituuu for doing that
Re: Does everything really happen for a reason?
I think not everything but most of the thing happens for one reason ...........your naseeb / fate written by Allah.
Not everything I would say because for example Allah has fixed that so much I will earn in a month now it's upto me if I will earn it by halal means or haram means, what He has decided I will get no way less than my naseeb and no way more than my naseeb but it method / approach we adopt to get those things in our naseeb.
Re: Does everything really happen for a reason?
Sometimes I can clearly see a distinction between that which is fate and that which people have done on purpose to cause pain and harm.
Re: Does everything really happen for a reason?
I think we can give everything a reason. But we have to make it happen. Example: I did not get into grad school :(...everyone is telling me dont worry, everything happens for a reason. So, I can sit on my ass and wait for that great "reason" to come to me, or I can be active about it and look into other types of opportunities. Now, if because of my hard work I get a great job, then yes...I will be able to say that I didnt get into grad school for a reason..there was something better out there for me. But you have to give yourself the reasons. I think overall, we say this to ourselves to make ourselves feel better when something does not work out.
Re: Does everything really happen for a reason?
Nina - may beAllah wants you to work more hard and thats why you didn't get into grad school. Almost all successful people didn't get success over night almost all of them suffered failures in the beginning which made them work more harder and that hard work made them different and more successful from others.
I know the first female Chartered Accountant of Pakistan , she was my teacher. She ended up with C grade in college , she felt ashamed of her self , he mother felt ashamed of her. She was soo affected by it that she went on to take up Chartered Accountant studies and studied day and night ....spend next 5 years of her life studying it and became the first female qualified CA of Pakistan. She wanted to prove her self and she did ! So her failure became her motivation :)
Sometimes failure occurs just to redefine or rebuilt your attitude and your EQ for good :)

**not everything happens for a reason...somethings that happen to you are the outcome/result of ur own actions...for example, if a student does not study and fails in the exam, we can't say that it happened for a good reason..it is basically the result of his own action and the outcome ( his being failed) obviously is NOT GOOD... so in such a case we can't say, everything happens for a reason...
On the other hand, if someone is fired from the job due to some UNFAIR reason, then in this case we can say that Yes, this must have happened for a reason because here the action/event was out of the person's control...
