Does colour matter?

i have noticed when peeps go on a wife hunt, the colour of the girl’s skin is always questioned…

why are paki peeps so obseesed with the colour of their skins, why is it even an issue…

why do paki peeps wanna be white?

or when a girl gets married why does she wanna look 3 shades lighter then her normal colour?

UFFFFF

peeps be proud of your colour will ya!!!

all counties under the equator have this type of fixation just like all the countries population above the equator have the opposite fixation.

its just one of those things to laugh at.

It sucks naa :bummer:
But I am a proud brownie :phati:

Re: Does colour matter?

and im blue :(

First thing it not only pakistani its the asain mentality.....& yes i agree with u colour shouldnt be a matter.....I dont understand why people even make this an issue.... there is nothing absolutely nothing wrong in being dark....

I guess its the lack of education....some retards badly need education....

:rotfl:

Re: Does colour matter?

wasnt that funny.....

Re: Does colour matter?

Im very happy with my skin color, Alhumdulillah.

Re: Does colour matter?

skin colour shouldnt be a matter but its r mentality tht white complexion makes u look good....thts y when peeps go out for wifez hunt they first notice their skin colour...... coz everyone wants beautiful lover...

Re: Does colour matter?

living in the uk, colour is't such a big issue, in matter of fact we prefere the tanned look if anything....

but it's mostly fresshie pakistani peeps or older Generation peeps tht think whiter is always best.....

I'm proud of being sanwali! =) girls shud focus on the quality of their skin rathar than making a fuss about the color!

Re: Does colour matter?

I have noticed a few people here in UK now say things like "she is dark, but pretty" at some girls. Where as in Paks I havent heard this said before. Mostly when they describe someone they say "She is white and beautiful". Otherwise they say "she is dark" but don't follow it with a compliment.

The world is an odd place. My english friends love the colour of dark asian skins, but the owners of these dark skins don't. Many asian friends in the past have told me im really lucky bcos i don't look asian, but english people tell me "we want to c u come back with a bit of colour on u" from my trips abroad.

Swings and roundabouts. The grass is always greener on the other side. Always want what u can't get...

Re: Does colour matter?

It does matter , it saves some money on electric bill. A person who has dark skinned color wife has to use high powered light bulbs to see her on the other hand the light skin wife brightens the room . Just kidding.
On a lighter note when mothers and sisters start looking for a girl to get their son or brother married to, they look for a wohti who is chitti. Men do not care in many cases. Some do but not a vast majority.
You will see that Asians are obsessed with fair skin and people in West are obsessed with dark skin , they spend countless hours taking sun bath or laying down on tanning beds . They spend millions of dollars to tone their skin down. I do not know the reason behind this obsession though.

Now my question to ladies why do you not like bald eagles sorry bald men ?

jis terhan apko people/pakistani likhtay huey takleef hoti hai ussi terhan kuch logon ko kaley rang se takleef hoti hai. aik app hi namoona nahe ho duniya mein, woh bhi hain…:halo:

Re: Does colour matter?

Nice topic! 1) saying someone is "dark but pretty" is not a compliment! Its like saying someone is fat but has a nice face that's essentially saying that somehow being dark would mean someone is NOT pretty or that someone is pretty despite being dark. 2) I don't think desi hatred of dark skin is comprable to white love of dark skin. Most white people don't pick their life partners based on their skin color, yes there is a concept that dark skin makes you look younger and healthier (which is does) dark skin also hides skin flaws, and generaly darker skin on legs arms is slenderizing. But those are not things that are widely used in choosing a mate. Skin color in our community is. It is also the same in other multi racial groups like Brazilians in the Caribian etc.

3) Now does color matter? I guess if it was just a personal preference then NO. It does not mater, but if you are culturaly warped and think people with light skin are some how superior or just beautiful by the sheer reason of being light skinned, then its a problem. Anyways, despite growing up in the states, just by the virture of being of Pakistani origin I have felt a slight skew toward lighter skin, I have worked hard to distinguish true empirical measure vs. cultural garbage. We are all a product of our culture but beauty comes in all shades and colors!

PS: On a side note, being Dubai right now, I am pretty ofended by the racist color based slurs I am hearing about Obama and his wife and kids! They are a beautiful family! Its definately some sort of cultural warp to think otherwise!

Re: Does colour matter?

I think, this mentality, or thinking relates with having goras in India, many many years ago.
White skin meant POWER. Still in Pakistan everyone turns and looks if they see a gora/gori passing by. That complex has always been there, and will always be here.
I have seen people, jo kisi bachay ke paida honay pe sawal kartay hain…
“bacha kaisa hai?
kis pe gaya hai
Gora hai ke nahin?” :smack: WTH.. bacha zahir hai maa baap pe hi jaey ga na…
ab mera bacha agar gora chita hooa, to adopted lagay ga na, mera nahin lagay ga :@:

Gina,

SO VERY TRUE! Healthy skin looks SO much more beautiful regardless of its color. Im obsessed with skin care because Ive been plagued with sensitive skin my whole life and its a blessing to have healthy skin. The color is what Allah swt gave us because He found it beautiful and thats all that matters.

Be thankful and take good care of it.

Being dark and pretty isn't an insult, it's actually a compliment! Rekha was dusky and very pretty, Bipasha is dark and pretty..Rani is dark and pretty...Priyanka is dark and pretty too! Iraj is dark Neha is dark and they're supermodels!

Same thing goes for a pretty face and chubby waist..Sonya Rehman's chubby and pretty, Atiqa Odho chubby and pretty!

Iman, Tyra, are both dark!

So color and size have nothing to do with a person being pretty!

Re: Does colour matter?

Well done girls, and spread the message....

personally i think chocolate girls(the way i like to call them:D) like Priyaka chopra and emm bibasha basu are soo preety and hot and have such preety features.... an i dont think anyone would turn them down now....

like Gina~ said, take good care of the skin u have, and be happy with it...
