And if not, why do married girls have a superiority complex over unmarried ones?
I have a cousin who’s a couple of months older than me. I saw her soon after her wedding and she’s like “Hai (fit my name here), tum mujhe itni bachi si lagti ho!”. I was like, really
Does being married give you self-confidence or something? Or is the difference that you’re getting nookie and I’m not?
Re: Does being married elevate your status in society?
LOL
i guess if your personality blossoms after marrying then yes, it gives you self confidence. it ofcourse has to do with all the importance you get from SO.
Re: Does being married elevate your status in society?
but if he/she treat you like sh!t. it would be the other way round.
nobody likes being treated as sh!t, isnt it? i mean, in response to your care and likeness, you get to be ignored and as if your existance dont matter, this type of marriages should not happen in the first place.
Re: Does being married elevate your status in society?
:) as far as i am concerned, i plan on staying single in case anything extra ordinary does not happen in my life. i mean, it is no big deal. you know, if you do not think someone can appreciate you for being you then why bother? if one does find someone you mean world to then one should pick them.
Re: Does being married elevate your status in society?
It's the other way around. You're in demand and wanted by the aunties and probably their sons too, but once you're married, you're pretty much done I guess. You don't get the same attention as those who are single.
Re: Does being married elevate your status in society?
really depends on who u r marrying to, doesnt it…warna toa gir bhi sakta hai…
waisai as for society’s views…woh kuch ziada achai nahin hotai…it can range from “reh gaee baichari” to “zaroor koi nuqs hoga” to “nakhrai barai thai, shakal thi nahin”…u know stuff like that…list goes on…
Re: Does being married elevate your status in society?
haha so true! but sometimes married girls continue to get proposals…if they live somewhere where not many people know they’re married…i think a guppy once wrote about an auntie showing interest in her when she was going somewhere with her in-laws…don’t remember who it was.
Re: Does being married elevate your status in society?
I argue about this with my daddi all the time, apparantly marriage = respect, from other women. A woman has reached into her own by obtianing a husband. She's a role model for every single girl in the world. Our daughter has achieved everything she possibly could by being married.
ufffff
i cant speak for all married women i know, but out of all my cousins and sister in laws...theres not a lot they can do which i also cant...if not better...apart from the obvious :p
Re: Does being married elevate your status in society?
catty......when i got married ......i was surprised to see how some bajis were offended whenever i addressed them as baji (out of respect)....some were introduced as in-laws relatives ....but funnily enough some were from those who were always baji prior to marriage
they were older ...at least 3-4 years ...but not married at that time..........so they thought its rude if i being married call them baji......i learnt my lesson soon ....n now i'm everyone's baji ....u can see on GS too :D
Re: Does being married elevate your status in society?
Its silly.
Frankly, I would take the second option, catty - I think the superiority complex is due to all the sex that they're getting that they think other girls aren't.
Kinda like women who have a great body will strut around like they're all that. Because they think they're superior since they get more male attention.
Re: Does being married elevate your status in society?
Is it not every girls dream to get married? So when she eventually does, shes living that dream, is settled down, has her man and hence gets that ego boost over the unmarried ones. And no one needs introduction to a women's bitchiness, they'll always use marriage to get one over the others, even if they're unhappy.
And yeah, its also a bit to do with them getting 'it' from their husbands and being able to openly flaunt that excited look on their faces because shes getting it 'legally' while others aren't (even though the unmarried ones are probably getting it secretely on the side).
