Re: Does being married elevate your status in society?
Its also the idea that "I have a man, and you don't"...or "I have a permanent man...whereas yours come and go".
I don't know really. My friends who are now married, I barely keep in touch with. One still acts like a kid. The other doesn't talk much anymore. A few act like aunties now so its hard to relate to them.
I haven't seen any of these girls act "superior" to their unmarried friends. If anything, you don't see them much anymore because they're chasing after kids, and now their "secrets" are to be kept between husband-wife, so you don't get to talk about crushes and other girly kind of things.
Re: Does being married elevate your status in society?
yeah its wierd... i know a few girls who recently got married (like last 2-3 years) and they're always talking to u as if their doing u some ehsaan.. it bugs me sooo much..
i have another friend whose been married for about 5-6 years now and has two kids too mashallah, but she's as normal as any spinster i know.. but yes, majority of the married girls i know look down on the single ones... geez, i hope i never ever ever become like that.. its soo not cool...
i did the mistake of asking one of my ex-friends, whose now married, about wedding arragments in pak.. man, she treated me like a jaahil...
Re: Does being married elevate your status in society?

Re: Does being married elevate your status in society?
Unfortunately, I have not looked for options available. Thanks bro for the concern. Anyways, my that comment was supposed to be funny, you turned it to be gloomy one.
On raising thing, there is a hilarious joke…Its rated 18 (Non- Pakistani girls) and 45 (Paki girls)
Re: Does being married elevate your status in society?
to the question"Does being married elevate your status in society?"
it depends!!
if a woman marries an upper class man, Yes,
if not: No !!! cause married women are allways looked down in companies as they might pop up with a kid anytime and that’s bad for business of the employer, so their pay and career will not go as fast high as that of a single, kid-free woman:o
You’re right Ahmadjee!!! What’s the need of most women to bitch on others women, men are united not divided, that’s why they rule:(
Girls and women: Think about it next time you’ll be complaining about sexism and the male dominated-society!
Re: Does being married elevate your status in society?
I have never met anyone like that..all my cousins are the same as before. I never do anything like that either. I don't discriminate people on the basis of being single or married. I would like to believe that the way a person acts has to do a lot with their personality and who they are...and not if they are single or married.
Re: Does being married elevate your status in society?
Marriage is not just about raising blood pressure, but also receiving a descent acknowledgment for it too (in case of a success one). Being able to have extra bit of pleasure for satisfying the other person is also a good point.
Re: Does being married elevate your status in society?
my only married cousin started acting like she was better than everyone, the day after she got married. she used to be one of my favorite cousins now she's like a distant khala or something to me.
