Chlorination has to be the most preferable way these days so almost everyone has that facility.. it’s just that at the level of the chlorination varies at different places.
The preference is only for adding flouride in water and that’s community’s own decision.

Most water from water supply systems in Pakistan has high sulphate content, how does one get rid of sulpates from the water, because that is what causes upset stomach when we go back home...:(

I am not an expert but as far as I know, it’s because of the poor waste water treatment either through wells or done by government agencie and mostly professionals can do something about it such as reverse osmosis and flitration etc.
PS: I was referring towards the water here in the US… I didn’t know that you were talking about water in Pakistan.

You know I once had this Evian or whatever bottled water and its no match for Mount Franklin.

bottled water as much as i can. poland spring or fiji. i hate the taste of evian or tap water...the tap water in my neighborhood has a real bad flavor to it. plus its full of flouride and heavy metals saara taste aata hai blekhhh!
i dont understand why people pay the same amount for bottled water such as dasani...which is nothing but purified tap water,

I dont trust most municipal water supplies, even though they have to go through higher due diligence than bottled water. One big issue with water bottles that people do not realize is not the water at all, but the container, that cheap plastic has all kinds of crap in it. We are not at a stage in US where these containers have the type of restictions in effect like food wrapping in germany which have to be free of certain materials e.g. lead.
Actually I recall some study where quality of water from municipal supplies and ottled water was done and municial water was better. It was a study done by either NSF, UL or EHL just a few years back.

its the same water, bottled or regular, they just run it thru a tap...and give it a fruity name.

not true,
not all bottled water is the same
some is bottled at specific springs
some goes thru specific treatment such as distillation or reverse osmosis that is not done for tap waters for the most part
some bottled water is just plain water.

Tap water all the way. Flourides for healthy teeth and other elements like calcium that I don't get enough of in my diet.
I'm so used to the crap in tap water that I think bottled water tastes bland.

In Pakistan i only ever drink filtered or bottled water..
here, its berry bad but i barely drink water :(

Our house in the city and in the village have those motor pumps that pull water directly from earth. In addition, we have a tube-well on our farm house in village, that also pulls water from earth. That is the BEST taste of water I have ever drunk. Bottled water or treated water is NOTHING compared to that.
