Well women are more likely to get assaulted since they're physically weaker and because some men can be absolute thugs, but if she's some place safe then why not?
The girls could go out in groups or be dropped off and picked up by a relative but obviously a lot of parents would still say 'no'..
Here in the UK I honestly think most of the time the safety thing is just an excuse.. ('What if she meets someone? Arranged marriage goes down the drain)..

I would never go out alone after 9 ish or try my best not to. Men walking around can be kinda weird :/ especially drunk ones.
But in a group with friends its fine!

Like I said, if it's safe then why not? You're probably right about the arrange marriage excuse but I haven't actually heard of a forced marriage in my immediate family here or even in Pakistan so I didn't think of that.

once a while is fine but if it becomes a habit no. i'm against it. or unless they r doing night shifts. the same rule should apply to spouses too :)

All those who said "as long as its safe", well that applies to everything you do day or late nights.
Late nights are not as safe as the day time its a fact of modern life.
What will you do staying out late? I do not know of any late night libraries in my area. I suppose the 24 hour supermarket would be ok at night.
