The following idea is by no chance an advice right now. I am looking for your insight.
I am sure many of you must be using some acne on spot cream for your zits and acne. What all those creams meant to do is dry out your skin and then take that thin dry layer off your skin. And that zit almost dissappears.
I Use Zapzyt or Terminator 10 for zits and they both have 10% benzyol peroxide. Terminator 10 works best. I apply it on acne zits and then it drys it out in 2 or 3 days and then my skin from tht area starts peeling off. I like peeling off tht little part of dry skin and looking at the new skin.
I was wondering if we do this to acne scars too. The popular methods of removing scars are exfoliation, microdermabrasion and skin peels. They all are used for the purpose of removing that dead skin layers and exposing the new clearer skin underneath.
Do u think the Terminator 10 treatment (or any other on spot treatment) can also be used to dry out that scar area and then peeling off (by itself) that dry skin. Ultimately revealing the new skin underneath with a lighter scar.
Do you guys think it should work? I have always been wondering about it but havent applied the on spot treatment ever on the scar upto the point where it drys skin out. (I have applied this method for actual pimples and it works ofcourse). Do you think applying it on a scar can cause any harm to skin. I mean skin getting sensitive or any pigmentation in the long run?

i'm getting ur point u wanna use BP as an exfoliating agent. i hav searched on that some time ago (thinking same thing) n from wat i read n remember it doesn't work that way. its an anti bacterial n kills the bacterias that forms pimples. however i do remember one guy saying that ever since he started using BP for acne his skin has improved a lot n still at 37 he's wrinkle free. but if u still wanna try i see no harm try on one or two acne spots at a time. if u see results u can add in more areas . yes skin sensitivity will be there. for that u hav to be very careful while going in sun, apply really good sun protection.. but AHAs or retinols/retin A will work way better than BP IMO.

Yeh I have seen on youtube... people apply Benzyol Peroxide on their whole face on regular basis. But I am aware of long term affects that in the long run it significantly drys your skin out and create more wirnkles.
But I think if applied in short run, it should not harm skin and should do the trick drying out and then removing the dead skin on spots. Lets see if it works... fingers crossed.

high concentrations of BP can cause acne scarring like the HOLES yes the holes! like pits and indents! many people have gotten that from using proactiv which the main ingredient is Benzol perxide. thsi is because it is too strong and the skin doesnt heal fast enough so while the pimple goes away the hole forms. trust me, it happened to me

that's very sad n strange thing pakifairy. proactive has mostly 2.5% BP which is mild n safe to use.
i hav been using BP 5% for 2 months now on regular basis( finished whole tube) n so far i'm good. for dry skin n wrinkles u need to use a moisturizer after using it. on its own it doesn't cause wrinkles. Dan, the owner of ance.org has been using it on/off for 20 yrs now n he found it safe. he's wrinkle n scar free.
Pakifairy ur story really scared me out. anyways i don't find it any use to use it regularly unless one has acne.
