Do you think collecting is good?

i do not mean garbage : ) however for recycling purposes that is good.

what i mean is collecting things, i have a bad habit of collecting archie comics, magazines, airline tickets and boarding passes, movie tickets and so on…

in your opinion is it good ? if not why is it bad and do you collect stuff too?

i used to collect archie , fashion magzines when i was in college - I have also loads of things of similar kind .. but actually i never collected them - i kept buying and somehow they piled up in my cupboards .

things which occupy too much space and time should not be collected in my opinion .the rest is ok

I collect books …..

Problems … the hobby is expensive and ya need a big and cosy storage place for them

Hard to keep yourself going if one is living a vagabond life like I do …

Results … half of them are donated to college library .. rest are sent back to Pakistan

Believe me its like sending your kids away … a painless death

^ true - collecting books and maintaining them is an expensive hobby

and then giving them away .. why dont you borrow them from library in the first place

i am adicted to collect old things.and i think this is good habit by this u can remember your good past memories

I do not collect anything.

what about memories ... whether ya want them or not they stay with ya :)

On second thought looks like I am collecting body fat now a days. Working hard to keep it off.:)

Our Halal shop guy is from Punjab Pakistan … once he shared a punjabi saying with me and it goes like

i dont collect things but i can throw away what i have either ... it can become a problem if u dont have the space for it.

Hareem that is interesting to me, i have not yet come across anyone who collects change. If i might ask, why do you do it?

^^ maybe he/she meant coins .. like diff coins ... do u collect change in general .. in which case, u must be rich

Yes i knew she was referring to coins, i do collect coins too from different countries and also my home country and the country i am living in but what i meant was i have not yet come upon another person who shares this habit of mine.

I only collect pennies and when they reach to 50 pounds I take them to bank for an exchange in notes, then I spend those notes. :D
