Re: Do you miss Pluto being a planet?
Yeah I miss it being a planet.. I remember in school we had that rhyme to help us remember the nine planets: My very eager mother just served us nine pizzas :( Except now there won't be any pizzas..

Now, it'll just be "My very energetic mother just served as nothing"
Re: Do you miss Pluto being a planet?
That totally depends on your personal usage. If you want it for professional use or just for hobby or Astrophotography. There are many decent Refractors in the market but that clearly depends upon your pocket. For beginners, i’d definitely suggest “Galileo FS720DX 720 x 80mm Astro Terrestial Refractor Telescope” it is best for beginners. Easy interface, good quality, stable and cheap. It’s currently for $199.99 on Amazon.
http://www.starterastronomytelescopes.blogspot.com/ for detailed information. They hold a healthy amount of guides for telescope usage. Hope you found your answer.
Just give me a message if you need any help whatsoever.
LOL! that is the best description I ever got on Pluto’s demotion! ![]()
Re: Do you miss Pluto being a planet?
Thank you, Safwan! I'll look up the Galileo. I had a Celestron Firstscope but it got lost when I moved house. Was seriously thinking about getting a kit to build my own; but the time commitment may be an issue.
Thanks, I'll bug you again about it at some point once I've had a chance to go through your link.
Re: Do you miss Pluto being a planet?
OMG.
You know, a couple of days ago, i was going to create this exact same thread.....but then i thought, no... everyone is going to think i'm being a sad old fogie.
I was discussing astronomy with my children.... and realised i couldn't use the "My Very Easy Method Just Speeds Up Naming Planets..." mnemonic..:(
So now i use "My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nachos.." :D
HAHA! I learnt that too in school! :)
