I do. I dont care how big or small she was. Pluto was part of my childhood. 9 planets is what we grew up with. Its like you take a color away from rainbow and make it a 6 color arc.
I know 9 planets are history, but do you miss Pluto?

Re: Do you miss Pluto being a planet?
OMG.
You know, a couple of days ago, i was going to create this exact same thread.....but then i thought, no... everyone is going to think i'm being a sad old fogie.
I was discussing astronomy with my children.... and realised i couldn't use the "My Very Easy Method Just Speeds Up Naming Planets..." mnemonic..:(
So now i use "My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nachos.." :D
Re: Do you miss Pluto being a planet?
i agree !!
without pluto ...My Very Esteemed Mother Just Serve Us 9 Pizzas :D
.... oh the 9 Pizzas' part :(
i want pizza...i really do miss pluto. Pluto has always been the super planet used in almost all the kid sci-fi I used to read.
Any weird person you saw was definitely from Pluto or Mars.
We used to wonder how how cold Pluto would be.
lol :D
Re: Do you miss Pluto being a planet?
Oh yeah. I dreamt about Pluts last night and cried in my sleep. I remember the days when she was an astronomical companion and we would spend hours looking at the stars together. Today, she is but a dot in my memory, lost in the circle of bigger and greater things. I miss you Pluto. And I hope you miss me.
Re: Do you miss Pluto being a planet?
Maroush, I thought of the topic this morning but did not open a thread for the very same reason as yours.. but then I saw Ravage's Eleven Planet blog and felt encouraged to open it :D
.

Darn it, you did not mention venus .. I guess you are saving women from being called weird .. (reference: men are from mars women are from venus

and alas the poor little Pluto is no more ![]()

think how much would Neptune miss it. his word in the mnemonic was due to Pluto
(nine pizzas) ![]()
Re: Do you miss Pluto being a planet?
Neptune must be suffering from low self esteem .. you know, being the last one in the line now.

John Gray is from Mercury or something .. you know after divorcing his wife, he should avoid writing relationship books ![]()
oh I didn’t know he divorced her
he should have been sent to Pluto so he would have been lost for good now ![]()
A little off topic..now I realise why did my fiance laugh so much at the 50 gender differences I sent extracted from this book ..and his remark was ‘see that’s why am so skeptical about the Western’s take about relationships’ and I didn’t understand … ![]()
sheepish
![]()
Oh well back to Pluto Chronicles now ![]()
any more odes coming up? or are we the only one with that soft corner for the lost planet in our hearts ?
talking about tlk bhai , nikki aapi maroush and me ![]()
Re: Do you miss Pluto being a planet?
I don't care about Pluto. It's all about Planet X. Nibiru!
Re: Do you miss Pluto being a planet?
Planet X? .. I live in 70’s .. you live in 50’s man ..![]()

Ditto! I feel like one of my belief systems has been shattered. I told my students a long time ago that pluto was a planet. I was teaching preschool....and then I find out that Pluto isn't even a planet. That's what I grew up learning. :(
I even had a mnemonic device to help remember the "9" planets in order. "My Very Energetic Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas." And now there's no pizza to serve! :(
Now it might as well be: "My Very Energetic Mother Just Served Us....Nothing" Sigh :(
There was a time when the mention of Pluto conjured up 2 images in my mind...one of them being a distant icy "PLANET."
But now.......when I hear the word "Pluto"..........I'm left with just one image...........an orange colored mutt. :(

wow, a dog .. and come to think of it, from the person of your intellect, I was hoping you gonna say 'Pluto, the Roman god' :(
Re: Do you miss Pluto being a planet?
So, this is a joke- right?!
^
I learned him as Hades…the more commonly known name…in Greek Mythology ![]()
Re: Do you miss Pluto being a planet?
yes, i remember the day when pluto and me cut class and spend the day munching peanuts along the beach. those were the days...
what? Pluto not being a planet …
No its not a joke, pluto has been demoted from being a planet last year (because of her size)
