What's so special about defence? Yes when I go to Pakistan I live there and my in-laws to be's home is also in DHA. But Why do people act like it's some amazing community?

Most of us live in one of 3 modes here is GS
1) Offense mode - for example, you are clueless, xyz
2) Defence mode - No, I am not clueless (and revert to offense - you are)
3) Neutral - sippling chai while watching Offese vs Defense

DHA stands for Defence housing authority.
DHA > Controlled by the Army > Safer than most areas.
Moreover, most of the elite/cream of the crop prefer living there (DHA, Khi is all I could speak of) due to its better organized/well kept structure (roads, housing, commercial chains etc) compared to most other places.
For a few examples:
Strings, Ali Azmat
Anwer Maqsood and Bajiya
Ateeqa Odho
Shaukat Aziz (Lived in Sunset, his daughter lives nearby and to date)
Shahid Afridi, Moin khan, Rameez Raja, Zaheer Abbas
Musharraf (Post army retirement house built next to Zamzama park) His son and daughter.

Yes... the Fammily home is in Defence Scheme 1.
However I only go there if and when required, anyone who knows me well by now can guess that when I reach Pakistan I head for the high ground... and as far away from populated places as possible. To me the Wilderness is a lot more tame these days than the urban jungle.

No one has answered my question. Why is this considered an amazing community as compared to other locations in Pakistan? It's not like it's some gated community where no robberies happen, or the light never goes out, etc.

I think the land costs more (?), so houses cost more. So people are all woweee you can afford to live in defence.
