We Indians & Pakistanis have spoilt our name in stingeness & haggling, especially the previous generation (maybe they were poor immigrants), that it's important we tip & be seen to be generous - to regain the respect we have lost.
If you travel to HK, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, you willl realise the hordes of Indians & Pakistanis that land there - haggling away, on each and every thing. No wonder the locals, do not even care to serve desis.
