Re: Do you get along with most everybody you meet?
Okay see there’s this person who is highly educated, he is spiritual and religious. He seems very nice because he’s thoughtful about whenever he meets people or goes sightseeing he brings back stuff for friends which is sweet but then he throws little potshots at me when he’s speaking with me like he’s bitter about something or he emails or messages a friend over and over until the person responds back.
our personalities probably don’t match.
One example of the potshots is while buying something and asking for the price of the item in a desi store I thought it was very expensive so I told the store owner to put it back but he lowered it by 2 bucks which still made it highly expensive and I kept saying I don’t want it. This friend under his breath says "it’s hard to make her happy"hehehe.
If I didn’t want to buy the darn expensive thing why push it on me. Maybe it’s me. I ignored it but then there are other times when he says things similar like that. I’m an abcd but I’m not very desperate to find someone right now that I would go extremes. I’m trying but I’m leaving it to Allah as well. He says stuff like I should have a board around my neck that says I’m an American citizen marry me. I guess some people might find that amusing but those are just two examples of how he is. I’m just trying to think is it me that needs to adjust and lighten up. I get along fine and I’m comfortable with most everybody else and if not I adjust but this guys just rubs me the wrong way. How would you react to such a person?
It looks like this person just has a habit of saying things without due consideration. In some places he is rude actually! That is the trait I would stay away from. rudeness is very hard to manage or accept in the longer term. His digs dont seem genuine concern either.
