It is always me that is because meeting people makes me uneasy and I get annoyed fairly quickly.

It was so hard to make friends when I moved to a new city and still is when you literally have no connection to a community. I do feel though people are really into cliques. If someone doesn't stay in touch or I don't get invited out on nights out I always wonder why because I get along with everyone. People always tell me I'm a warm person but I'm always feeling like its me. My husband feels the same, we don't get what we are doing that makes it difficult for us to make lasting friendships lol. Then there's people like my cousin, no matter the age group or who it is she gets along with people 10 years + or 10 years younger. Some people just have it going on haha. Meeting new people also gives me a bit of social anxiety.

I get along with pretty much most people I meet but then some people don't get along with me :(

If someone was passing comments at me that I did not find funny, I'd let them know. I've lost a friend due to constant "jokes" that really weren't funny or necessary, and appeared to be jabs more than anything.
I get along with people well enough as long as they are not arrogant, power-hungry or too shallow. But people I make close friends with are people who are generally empathic and warm.

If you reading this, Londongirl2013, you just made my day! I am sometimes very politically incorrect and it is always awesome to find someone who agrees with me.

Okay see there's this person who is highly educated, he is spiritual and religious. He seems very nice because he's thoughtful about whenever he meets people or goes sightseeing he brings back stuff for friends which is sweet but then he throws little potshots at me when he's speaking with me like he's bitter about something or he emails or messages a friend over and over until the person responds back.
our personalities probably don't match.
One example of the potshots is while buying something and asking for the price of the item in a desi store I thought it was very expensive so I told the store owner to put it back but he lowered it by 2 bucks which still made it highly expensive and I kept saying I don't want it. This friend under his breath says "it's hard to make her happy"hehehe.
If I didn't want to buy the darn expensive thing why push it on me. Maybe it's me. I ignored it but then there are other times when he says things similar like that. I'm an abcd but I'm not very desperate to find someone right now that I would go extremes. I'm trying but I'm leaving it to Allah as well. He says stuff like I should have a board around my neck that says I'm an American citizen marry me. I guess some people might find that amusing but those are just two examples of how he is. I'm just trying to think is it me that needs to adjust and lighten up. I get along fine and I'm comfortable with most everybody else and if not I adjust but this guys just rubs me the wrong way. How would you react to such a person?
It looks like this person just has a habit of saying things without due consideration. In some places he is rude actually! That is the trait I would stay away from. rudeness is very hard to manage or accept in the longer term. His digs dont seem genuine concern either.

see some people just tend to have the special way of delivering a joke so it doesn't end up being annoying or actually hurtful and then there are those that go overboard where it isn't even funny.. Like some personalities just have that natural ability like S and S mentioned.
im pretty easy going but I realized there are just some people I just don't get along with and it's completely frustrating
some people I totally get and then there are others I'll never understand.
personality clashes will exist as much one person tries

The examples that you gave here about what he says, sound innocent and harmless. Maybe try not to take everything so serious.

do you? I am not overly sensitive most of the time.
