So lets say you were born in UK/US/Australia etc etc etc and are not a Pakistani passport holder but your parents are from Pakistan..and you visit Pakistan frequently…etc etc etc…
do you call yourself a Pakistani then?If you do is it wrong of you to call yourself Pakistani?
Do you celebrate Pakistani independence day then?
If you once held the Pakistani passport but now you are no longer a Pakistani passport holder can you call yourself a Pakistani?
can you celebrate Pakistani independence day? :aq:
We know “mostly” do follow Islam religiously and also are keen to do it but culturally, if somehow you think you are Pakistani, do you show any positive attitude towards Pakistani culture and supporting it in any form and in any country u live in? (eg: preferring Shalwar Qameez over Trouser Shirt, Conversation in Urdu at home rather than English, knowing at least 25% of Pakistani history (maybe the most basic ones).
Another simple question, how many of you can sing Qumi Tarana (Pakistani Anthem) completely?
and the last one for now, how do you feel when you hear any bad news from Pakistan? Do you think ‘Dont worry its OK, its Pakistan’ and let them suffer or you feel regret and try to think on it or you get sad or try to help the situation in Pakistan? Do you feel ashamed of being Pakistani and swear at Pakistan or at other Pakistani nationals?
There re more but these are the basic ones that I know only 5% people may answer it positively. Having a Green booklet in your pocket doesn’t mean you are Pakistani or even having Pakistani parents also doesn’t mean you are Pakistani, until you feel Pakistani from your heart.
Only one of my parents was born in Pakistan, I wasn't born or bred there, I've only been to Pakistan once, I don't have a Pakistani passport and I can't even speak Urdu particularly well.
Do I still call myself Pakistani? Yes (albeit a British Pakistani) Why? Because I'm of Pakistani descent and that's where my roots are...and for all its faults I love that place.
1st q : Got a veryyy positive attitude toward Pak Culture =>I do wear shalwar qameez in front of these goray and I don’t feel ashamed , have more convo in urdu compared to the lang spoken here.
2nd q : I can sing the full version of the Pakistani Qaumi Tarana I don’t even know here’s
3rd q : I feel helpless when I hear something bad abt Pakistan. Try to donate, get more info abt the news,… And why should we feel ashamed being Pakistani ppl ?

I think Pakistanis outside identify themselves as Pakistani because they see that they are "different" from people around them.
Children of a Romanian immigrant will consider themselves American (being white), children of Ugandan immigrant will consider themselves American (being black), but children of a Pakistani immigrant won't consider themselves exactly American (being neither white or black).
