Do women in Pak want to work?

Do women in Pak want to work? I personally don’t want my wife to work, so I am wondering what the feelings are.

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

why shouldnt she work?

Do you expect her to be educated with a professional degree?

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

Pakistan needs to mobilise its huge female workforce to contribute to the economy.

Personally, I think its vital for women to work (assuming they are fit and able) to steer Pakistan forward.

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

Because in Islam the best place for a woman is her home. It says in the quran stay in your homes. Why should she work when her husband is providing? Why should she work with non mahrams? Why should she neglect her family? When Islamically this is her duty.

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

Allah says the best place for a women is her home. How can you this isn't true?

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) wife Khadija (ra) was a successful business woman. She should be seen as a pioneer for today's Muslim women.

What if the husband doesn't provide and there are kids? What if he is not around? What if he unexpectedly dies or is disable?

A woman can work from home if she chooses. In fact this time now also called the information age more and more people work from home which is fantastic for women as well as men.

Your Islamic theory doesn't stand.

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

I am no scholar and not that religious, but wasnt hazrat khadija a business woman? genuine question

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

The prophet's SAW wife worked before she became muslim. Afterwards she stayed at home. Women working with non mahrams is haram. Women allowed to ofc but there are conditions one being that her family isn't neglected, two she isn't working with non mahrams, three her husband lets her.

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

Prior to her reversion to Islam, yes, but afterwards no.

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

anyway to answer your question - the majority of the women in my family from the newer generation i.e. 35ish and below, work and wish to work.

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

So is this the norm or is it just your family?

Just because a woman wants to work doesn't mean she'd 'neglect' the house or family.

There are 24 hours in a day. Not all 24 would be spent at work.

Considering how the economy is, Im sure dual income would only help a household, even if you don't needed.

Personally, I could never see my self being a stay at home wife. I'd go insane. But there are women who do it, willingly or not.
But I think if a women wants to utilize her right to work and have her own freedom, let her.

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

That is a understanding between husband and wife. Majority of Pakistanis are moderates and have no issues with this. The fact our Prophet never stopped her from working should say a lot alone. Now going into details such as working with men that is purely on a personal level for that person.

Take doctors for example in certain places there are huge shortages. Are you saying these women shouldn't work? I can tell you most religious rules go out of the window when it comes to saving lives.

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

I'm not sure how posing this question is going to help you, OP. If you want our wife to stay at home, then look for a girl who's on the same page with you; baat khatam. You're entitled to your preference. Nothing shameful in being a housewife.

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

Wow I'm not from pakistan, I'm from the UK and looks like things have changed lol I'm NRP

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

Well I am looking fo get married so wanted to.know how the girls are. Seems like they are pretty feminist.

The people who shout the loudest about women not allowed to work also seem to have the biggest problem with male teachers for girls and male docs looking up women's thingamajigs.

My khaloo doesnt work. He has lots of commerical and agricultural land and doesnt even use that for any purpose. My mum and other relatives pay them zakat and financial assistance for the sake of kids who r suffering. I question my mum on paying zakat to them as value of land is huge.

I asked mum to tell her sister to do somework from hme. Bt we r told its against familys izzat.

Recently my khaloo said hes sending his daughter to overseas for study and she will earn and feed him and he has family and their dreams will cme true.:D

In reality its hard to live in one income with kids unless you earn alot. Plus I believe by staying hme a persons becomes useless. In my family noone works and aunties are so overweight and watch starplus all time with servants doing housework.

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

Considering the two threads you have opened end within 5 mins of each other, you shall not marry a woman fom Pakistan. None of you will be happy together!

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

they want to work. but there are plenty who are willing to settle at home. you should have no problem finding one. but make sure you tell them before you don't want her to work.
