Do women in Pak want to work?

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

No they do not.

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

I think you're manipulating Islam to suit yourself. Our religion does not stop a woman from working or being successful or educated. There are conditions, sure. But there are conditions for a man to respect also. She can demand anything she wants from you...Islamically of course. If you want her to stay home, I hope you understand that she isn't obligated to live in a joint family system, take care of your parents or even live with them. She can demand separate accommodations, hired help, and you'd be obligated to provide all of it because Islam says this is your best place. Islamically she has much more power than you seem to think. Limiting a woman in this day and age is not wise.

Yup. I hope the OP is willing to find a male doctor for his wife...because in the world he lives in...women don't work.

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

work is good as long as it does not disturb your personal life

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

Thank you! I love how men just look at how Islam benefits them :halo:.

Also, does anyone really bother thinking about the fact that the “rules” for Islam were written waaaaaaaaaay back where mortgages didn’t exist and raising a kid didn’t cost $20,000 and that’s only up to 18 years old among other household expenses? The rules for Islam really don’t apply to this society IMO. But that’s another debate.

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

I think you meant to write $200,000, right?

I do think the rules in Islam apply to this society though…just not in the way people try to twist them to suit their own desires. Like the OP’s thread here about women not working. Unless he plans on living in a cave with a child bride…women these days realize their value and Islam does allow us to live upto our potential. Work, education, family life, etc…all are a part of Islam. Placing family first is not just a woman’s responsibilty…a man has the same role albeit in a different way. If you push her to do something she doesn’t want to do - she will do the same. If you use Islam to force her to stay home - she will use Islam as well to do as she wishes.

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

YES! but, the poor wives work 24/7/365 for their hubby's and in-laws [MIL, FIL, BIL, SIL etc]

Re: Do women in Pak want to work?

OP, you have clearly lost the Islamic debate in this argument. In my opinion, it is not right for you to stop your wife from working.

You say, she will mix with non mehrams so are you saying that when you work...you will be staying clear of girls ie. non mehrems to you? If that is not possible then why do the same rules not apply for your future wife?

To all others, thanks for clearing up a lot of thoughts ( now I know how to argue with my dad, he has the same mentality )

Thanks!
