Re: Do u eat NON-Halal meat?
I always eat halal food i.e. no pork but not necessarily slaughtered as per Islamic rulings. I dont really see anything wrong with it, and if my mother is going to offer me food, there's no way im turning it down just because its not zabiha meat. As long as its not pork or something, I have no major problems with it.
Re: Do u eat NON-Halal meat?
man seeing those packets of chicken feet at the grocery store always turns my stomach. what do they do with it??
My friends tell me that our local butcher shop is Halal. So I keep going back to this butcher shop (owned by south indian Hyderabadi Muslims) and ask them if the meat is Halal. They just wobble their head sideways without saying anything … and I come back empty handed. ![]()
ask the meat then…can’t be anymore direct n blunt than that.
If in doubt, leave it out.
Do you have any other halal butchers in or around your area?
Re: Do u eat NON-Halal meat?
I eat zabiha meat only.
Why? Well one of the reasons is because I know for a fact that sometimes meat sold as 'chickennuggets' or whatever is not just chicken but a mixture of say 40% pork and 60% chicken. I've seen it at school cafetaria's (where I had a part-time job). In fact many times meat snacks contain a mixture of various meats!
Better be safe than sorry I say!
Re: Do u eat NON-Halal meat?
We always buy meat from the halal butcher (lamb). Outside we always make sure that the restaurant etc. is providing hala meat (we usually only eat chicken as it is provided halal mostly). If I ask and they tell me, yes it is halal. I actually dont do further investigation as I choose to believe them. Same goes for the labelling, if a label on a pack of chickenbreast says its halal slaughtered, I'll buy it.
Me and my family eat only halal meat. In London there are loads of places that serve genuine halal meat. If no halal meat is available then i go veggie or for seafood meal. i am so used veggie meals since school that i find them yummier than meat ones personally.
Actually i do check or my friends check if proper halal meat is being served at restaurants, it doesn't take more than 5 min.
Oh, another thing even though hubby and I will eat it.... i dont know if i'd want to raise my kids that way. Do u guy s think this is hypocritical or wrong, taht id ont want them to do what I do? Im confuzzled.
I am confused too. Why would u not want them to eat it if it is acceptable?
Muslims who eat haram rizq knowingly are kachay pakkay musliman…so just ignore them.

And are you God that you know who is a kaccha/pakka musalman?
I think those who are full of pride and arrogance and smug aren't very muslim.
Re: Do u eat NON-Halal meat?
^^ i agree with u sara...i dont understand how can they do that.

and who are you to give verdict on it? .. You look like to me not even a Muslim, now cry and bite me !
lol. Because we're hypocrites. We try to show our greater superiority by how strictly we follow the observed 'rules' of the religion when our hearts are far from pious.
In my opinion, morality, spirituality, is not defined by what you eat. It's by how you've lived your life and acted towards yourself and everyone around you.
So do I eat non-halal food? Yes, all the time. And I love it. I love Japanese food, chinese food, Spanish tapas, Ethopian, French, Moroccan... you name the country's cuisine, I'll give it a shot.
But I respect the preferences of others, and never impose my choices on others. If my cousins who do eat halal are coming over for dinner, it's halal meat all the way as per their preference. I think the values of 'respect' are what many of us forget to practice on a regular basis.
Umm...Syani, what does Pork taste like?
