Oh and I too hate to break it to you that what I said previously wasnt MY theory, its a family unit which the religion set upon us... Nature has time and again proved it correct...
If a woman chooses to neglect her child , its the woman's fault , not the system. Neglect can come from anything , whether its a working woman who is happy for her kids to be in the hands of the nanny ... or she tends the kids half heartedly and tired after a day's tire or be it a woman ( home maker ) who prefers kids stay out of her site whilst she gets busy with gossiping and TV !
BINGO- its not just the quantity of time but the quality of time that a mother spends with the kid. the theory was that the system is breaking down because women are in the workforce, that was too simplistic, but its the quality of time they are giving to their kids vis-a-vis other influences, something that stay at home mums in Pakistan are not doing too well either.
with the part of quality of time being important, once the kids are in school then the time that a mother has for kids is almost the same, and then it all boils down to quality.
that was my point.
