like in yoga class, at gym, coffee shop etc etc as they show in movies & get to know each other, do people get involved with one another like that?

Yes..you meet usually through friends. However, sometimes random too. It is all about timing and location.

somehow i think that is not the norm in desis to meet like that baat karlo tu "aago wadan nu painday ne " lol esp. gals. They start thinking something else lolzzz.

^ Making friends....maybe. It really depends on your personality. Some people are not comfortable with that, and others are.

One of my friend met a girl in movie theater. Not sure how..but now they are getting married. Another girl I know met her significant one on fb.They both were in toronto here..they just got engaged.

Op let me ask you this..since you are a girl I assume and I liked you..how would you want me approach you...especially in these public places.Answer that question..then ill let give you direct answer.

see people meet other people on fb too as you mentioned … i have started one thread regarding this in all views … the thing is that person is not replying :frowning: … n obviously i can’t force him to do that … n you know what we are in the same city … anyways … i d’t know why ppl hesitate to talk to strangers …

to answer your question i think if you approach in a decent way by making a nice conversation then that is :k:

my question to you too how wou;d you want a girl to approach you ? would you feel weird that why on this earth this girl is trying to talk to me as i don;t even know her?

I suppose its just a method of meeting someone...but I do find it weird when I get those creepy FB messages. Like "oh...looking good yaar...let's chat na?"

Fair enough...well same convo is nice ice breaker. And if I liked her I would make an effort to talk...and go from there. Usually..what I do throw some decent joke. Moqay ke lihaaz se...and introduce myself. I am talking about face to face intro here. I guess u can do same on fb.
