There’s nothing wrong about assuming and asking people about their race…how else would you know about them then?

You missed the point.

Its one thing to get curious and ask people where they’re from and another to go ohhhh you don’t look Pakistani, ahhhh you’re too fair to be an Indian, you’re too dark to be an Arab, you’re too skinny to be a Latino so I thought you must be an xyz. Such thinking is frankly quite insulting.
