Looks like its very a American thing to name anyone with bit of Eastern touch an Arab? They really are obsessed with the Middle East, aren’t they? lol
One thing that I find very interesting from my little experience is that Arabs in UK, never ever mistake an Asian girl for an Arab, no matter how ‘fair’ she is, how dramatic her eyeliner is or how exotic her Hijab looks. Yet they’d identify an Arab if even she/he doesn’t the conventional Arab looks. Its like a gora person can’t tell a difference between Indian and Pakistani, yet we Pakistanis and Indians can instantly tell the difference.
Besides, how many desi folks can tell a difference between a white German and a French,an Irish and an English person, if we don’t know the names and they don’t have accents.
85% arabs are brown.
btw, I can tell the difference between Irish and English or English and American…I can’t tell the difference between German and French or other Europeans.
