we know a pathan family very well. the women do complete parda - their father was a maulana and built the local mosque. just because they were living islamically it doesn't mean they were treated badly! the father treated his wife and daughter's extremely well. the same cannot be said for 2 of his daughters husbands though. in any group, you will get kind, caring people and also mean spirited people. i think that goes without saying. i don't see that there will be a conclusion to this thread.
