Do NOT shop here!Caveat emptor/Buyer beware !

re: Do NOT shop here!Caveat emptor/Buyer beware !

:(

I'm a student and $270 is a substantial amount of money. If these vendors are making 15 dresses or more a month at around $300 for each, they are earning more income per month than me! They can afford to make our dresses correctly.

Everyone makes mistakes but she should be fair and do something about it. I am not evil or trying to tarnish her reputation but I waited a loong time for her to respond about this. I am still willing to work with her if she can be fair about the whole thing.

re: Do NOT shop here!Caveat emptor/Buyer beware !

Perhaps she can try and sell it and make you another.

I doubt they are making that much though, most of will go in buying the fabric, paying the dyer, tailor and kaarigaar. Just look at some of Prototype's posts for a breakdown of costs.

re: Do NOT shop here!Caveat emptor/Buyer beware !

First of all ,you are my very nice client …I glad… if u want understand me…i want to tell u…u are showing uncomplete pic…its front and back and duppetta work..there is also work on its back …i send u 2pics of shade and u chose this one…Dusty black…!

u said ,i should make it in ur range…270$…and in this amount work on front and back and duppetta plus trouser(silk trouser)

and im sending u ur mail(sorry,i only want to clear my point ..so im pasting it)

I picked up the dress from my Mom’s house today and some things:
Positives
The kaam is beautiful.
The tailoring is beautiful.
The material is nice.
You have been wonderful to communicate with and you are very responsive.
Negatives
The colors are completely Not what I asked for. The suit is Black,
not grey. The border on the dupatta is Pink, not purple, even though
you had said it was your camera colors. The kaam is silver, not
cream. Also the kaam does not look like the photo very much–the
photo looks very different.
I showed the suit to a couple of people and everyone agrees that the
colors are completely wrong and that it does not look like the
instructions and photos at all.
Also, the churidar pajama is too tight around my calf so I will have
to get a new one sewn for it.

Okay?and i also mention this thing..

ANYWAYS

i can do this, that about ur other outfit you want to order i less you 100$ and send u churidaar pant free of cost!!

and its ur dress pics..first dress without stone work and second complete look…

what u said?

re: Do NOT shop here!Caveat emptor/Buyer beware !

I shall not be able to accept the return for the custom made clothes unless they are sent incorrect or are defective!

and about the CROOKED" motifs..it is just like in the pic you send me!!

Thanks

re: Do NOT shop here!Caveat emptor/Buyer beware !

Catwalk, I have always mentioned that you are responsive although you have not really responded to my queries about what you can do to help me, other than place a new order.

My apologies but I really don't feel like I want to place a new order until you fix the issue with this first suit. Giving me $100 off a future order is not really acceptable.

Usually, if you pay for something, you shouldn't have to buy another thing to fix the first thing...that doesn't really make sense. Plus, how am I supposed to trust you now?

My apologies for my ignorance on how much $ you make--I'm sure there are a lot of costs associated with running your business. However, I paid you the price you asked, fair and square. If you felt like the price was too little to make a decent suit that looked symmetric, fit and was close to what I asked for, then you should have let me know. The deal was not, pay me this price and I'll make you a substandard suit. The bottom line is that you did not make the suit the way we agreed on and, furthermore, you are offering me a fair option on how to proceed.

re: Do NOT shop here!Caveat emptor/Buyer beware !

The motif in the photo is not CROOKED. It is from a catwalk and the model is walking so it looks distorted. If you see a photo of a model where one arm is hidden, do you not include that arm in your work? What are you talking about? Why would ANYONE want a crooked hemline?

Also, the way the suit is stitched, the whole thing is crooked to one side. At first, I thought it was my body but my friend tried it on too.

Whatever--I am not sure you will budge but I can't say that I am happy with this whole thing. Again, I do credit you for being responsive to a certain degree.

re: Do NOT shop here!Caveat emptor/Buyer beware !

I wasn't taking sides in my post and Skllbklyn replied saying she did mention some of the things I raised anyway.

re: Do NOT shop here!Caveat emptor/Buyer beware !

It looks like a nice outfit from pics, but then you notice the crooked kaam. Totally totally unacceptable!

I am surprised the karigar actually thought since the design APPEARED crooked he had to make it that way. A good karigari/tailor would actually point out faults in a design that an average person may have missed. This karigar actually thought the model in pic walked on runway with crooked kaam (outfit made by some hi fi designer) on her shirt?

Ok so he made a mistake, but the designer dealing with the karigar should have noticed and gotten things fixed. Ok so she is only a human and missed it too, but when the person paying for this outfit pointed it out something should have been done!!!

Yea, I am really not sure what was going through everyone’s head. Maybe they’re really busy or something. Anyway, I’m out $300 (I am an idiot and just looked at my moneygram profile and saw that it was $300).

Anyway, does anyone want to buy a crooked, unworn suit for $300? :frowning:

re: Do NOT shop here!Caveat emptor/Buyer beware !

I think Saja has hit the nail on the head, the kaam is crooked! there is no getting away from that fact, u can see it on the photos attached. To say that its crooked in the original copy photo, therefore its crooked on the dress is a pretty lousy excuse.
Actually i would classify this as "defective"
If the motif had been straight, i think it would have looked absolutely lovely, the rest of the kaam is really nice but unfortunately one mistake has ruined the look of the outfit.
$300 is alot of money and i really feel for you SKLL, we put our trust in the hands of the vendors, hand over our hard earned cash and expect something that is wearable. To actually say that you'll get $100 off your next order just isnt on. Why on earth would you part with more money when your first order wasnt up to scratch! Just because buyers are sitting 6000 miles away, doesnt make it Ok to palm them off with whatever!

re: Do NOT shop here!Caveat emptor/Buyer beware !

its unfortunate about the crooked kaam, it must be even if your husband noticed it. u can live with wrong colours but not with kam being wrong.

re: Do NOT shop here!Caveat emptor/Buyer beware !

i lyk this dress .can u tell me what is size?

re: Do NOT shop here!Caveat emptor/Buyer beware !

if the lady handling the design is concerned about the quality of work, she should have checked the kaam on the outfit before it got stitched, coz before the outfit gets stitched the kaam can still be opened and redone properly by placing the cloth on the adda. This isn't possible once the outfit gets stitched. In Pakistan, the kaam wallah's we get clothes made from call you in to check the kaam on the outfit and approve it before the outfit is stitched.

re: Do NOT shop here!Caveat emptor/Buyer beware !

Dear NatyKhan,

The size is about medium. It's interesting that you like this dress. If you like her stuff, I will gladly sell this to you! Please pm me.

re: Do NOT shop here!Caveat emptor/Buyer beware !

SUMMARY:

All in all, I have to give Catwalk a big thumbs down. I thought she wanted to start a legitimate business but her behavior about this whole thing points to her being not trustworthy, in my opinion. I would NEVER order from her again at this point in time. She has not reached out to me, despite my emails yesterday. She managed to post on facebook and gupshup, however.

Some of these vendors do get a lot of orders (through facebook and here) and I wish there was a way to Really seed out the good ones from the bad ones. Catwalk's reviews were good and she has over 1,000 people on her facebook page with lots of comments and support. I'm sure she'll continue to get orders, despite this.

re: Do NOT shop here!Caveat emptor/Buyer beware !

Umm, I have not USED this dress! What are you talking about??? I won't be able to use it because it is defective!

I ordered this for a wedding on April the 2nd. Last I checked, it is not April the 2nd yet.

I am very surprised at your responses and how you are behaving. I stand by what I said: You are not trustworthy.

re: Do NOT shop here!Caveat emptor/Buyer beware !

You know what, Catwalk, I think you have totally lost it.

Not once did you apologize for the mess, for shipping me a defective item. I tried to give you the benefit of the doubt but was increasingly concerned at the way you were behaving.

Not only did you not apologize but you have tried to tell me that there is something wrong with my head! Wth! What are you hoping to gain out of all this? I gave you two options:

a) I can return this outfit and you can ship me the correct outfit. If you don't want to redo the dupatta, fine. At least take back the defective kameez. I can just get a black churidar made here.

OR

b) You can give me a PARTIAL refund. I am not asking for a full refund--fine, you spent money on cloth, shipping, etc.

Apparently, keeping $300 and not offering any apologies and concessions is worth more to you than your reputation and business. That makes no sense to me.
