Re: Do most pakistani men prefer urdu or punjabi speaking wives
Nope, I wouldn’t marry an English only speaking Paki wife - she must know Punjabi, as well as be able to read and write Urdu, just like me!
Re: Do most pakistani men prefer urdu or punjabi speaking wives
Its preference. If you are looking for a spouse who doesn’t mind that you don’t speak Punjabi/Urdu then he probably won’t know it either. And your parents are Pakistani I assume so your original language is technically Punjabi/Urdu. Like I said its preference. I am definitely teaching my kids their ancestral language. There are benefits to being multilingual.

I don’t know about the guys but as a girl, I’d like a guy who was multi lingual just like I am. It’s really just preference because I’d like for him to meet my grand parents and family back home in Pakistan one day and not all of them speak English very well if clearly at all. I’d also like my children to understand how important it is to hold on to your identity and still be able to live amongst others. Nothing wrong with learning many languages, if anything it’s an added advantage ![]()
