Do Indian Muslims wish they were 'Pakistani'?

Re: Do Indian Muslims wish they were ‘Pakistani’?

But wasn’t it the Pakistanis fault that they selected same horrible people over and over again and that led them to be in the current mess?

I don’t have the time to trudge through all the posts here… But a more potent question would be do Pakistanis ( forget the religion for one second) wish they were Indians?

Re: Do Indian Muslims wish they were ‘Pakistani’?

^no. And to ask this question we should also be told to forget for a while all the blood shed, countless lives lost, women who jumped down the wells, fathers who killed their daughters to save their honor, people who collected dismembered body parts, heck even sliced finger fragments of their sons, gathered as much of their sons and relatives remains as they could in sheets to give them an honorable burial. Today with headphones plugged into ears, shaking bums to kareenas jhatkas, munching away on crackers, some of them when ask, was partition so necessary? You want to kiss them.

^Thank you…its about time someone said it. Pakistan came into being after lots and lots of sacrifice. My family lost lots of members when migrating…and suffered cruelty my hindu and sikh mobs. Having…said that…i also agree with Reha that… Indian muslims somehow try to mix with us…mainly by marrying into Pakistan. Wear Pakistani clothes…(for women)…and get complemented. And…cheer our cricket team as well. But at the end of the day they are Indians…hardworking and loyal to their country.

Re: Do Indian Muslims wish they were ‘Pakistani’?

It’s my personal opinion that it was not necessary. Don’t jump at me! I think Pakistan and India together, if able to get along, can benefit greatly from having similar language and culture. We could make it big but the British had to ruin it for us. Did you know India was the richest country in the world before the British invaded it? Imagine what heights we could have reached if we weren’t colonized. Muslim blood shed isn’t any different than Hindu or Sikh blood shed. We all suffered from the partition.

P.S. I am Pakistani.

Haha..i knew this was coming for khalil.

Re: Do Indian Muslims wish they were ‘Pakistani’?

Filhal tu bilkul must be wanting this…however generally, even if they don’t…they shud  :stuck_out_tongue:

On a serious note, I think yes some of them do and myself being so patriotic makes me wonder HOW?

Re: Do Indian Muslims wish they were ‘Pakistani’?

I think it more depends on their perspective of nationality. People in Pakistan (used to) feel pain for wherever on the earth Muslim blood was shed because once a muslim, we believe we enter a bond of fraternity. I wonder if muslims in other parts of the world think the same but i know we pakistanis do, or did atleast, before all this terrorism peagant which has made our bloodshed so common a thing now that it doesnt even hurt anymore.

I dont see any reason the indian muslims would wish to be pakistanis. Look at our bengali brethren, they are muslims and they HATE pakistan. Its just a wishful thinking. Good or bad, you like it or not, you have to own what you have and what you are.

Re: Do Indian Muslims wish they were ‘Pakistani’?

I also want to say that I don’t think its a statement for all…but there are certain people who act like this.

Its similar to how I’ve seen some Punjabi families not want to speak Punjabi. They literally do not even teach their kids Punjabi because they feel its a disadvantage.

Re: Do Indian Muslims wish they were ‘Pakistani’?

That was pre-industrial era. Weak always get colonized or taken over covertly.

Re: Do Indian Muslims wish they were ‘Pakistani’?

:konfused: not making a lot of sense, this “friend” of yours.

Re: Do Indian Muslims wish they were ‘Pakistani’?

That is not the point.

Re: Do Indian Muslims wish they were ‘Pakistani’?

I would want to be Pakistani in any life. So much freedom there. If you make it rich there then you’re the boss! Best place to live if you’re rich. Not so if you’re poor.

Re: Do Indian Muslims wish they were ‘Pakistani’?

If I start pulling your pajama off you will cry ‘franship’ like you recently did…, hence learn to make sensible jokes/comments once for all.

Now:

I wrote what is true and while I am not trying to show myself champion of Indian Muslim rights, it is well established Muslims in India do live under pressure of showing loyalty to India unnecessarily and cannot freely speak (except on some political front, which also gets monitored by international community).

Otherwise, one can easily see what I meant by this article:

India’S FANTASY OF DISLOYALTY

Muslims employed in the Gulf remit almost one-third of the $70 billion that India receives annually. A nascent entrepreneurial middle class is emerging in, among other places, Bhopal and Hyderabad.
But they have to overcome great mental barriers in a mainstream culture largely inimical to them. It is not uncommon for Muslim neighborhoods to be popularly tagged as** “mini-Pakistans,”** or for even relatively affluent Muslims to be denied rented accommodation and school placements.

As to your question:

What about those who live outside India?

Did you forget you are talking about those who do not want to be Indians anyways?

So what is this got to do with those Muslims who are Indians and still live in India, but allegedly wish to be Pakistanis as the title says??

You are comparing apples to oranges.

There are Hindu Indians who live outside India and don’t want to be Indians anymore.

You posts consistently show support for Indian Hindus despite you have said you are from Siri Lanka.

Does this mean you wish to be Indian?

Or

Does this mean you just post in their support… to create or escalate issues between Indian and Pakistanis?

Re: Do Indian Muslims wish they were ‘Pakistani’?

lol @ the tough guy act.

and double lol @ siri lanka

you are in a class of your own, diwana. :flower1:

Re: Do Indian Muslims wish they were ‘Pakistani’?

You’re welcome. Extremely sorry to hear this. very sorry.

making hidden jibes is a good way of telling how badly some tails were trampled.

Hey we all have Indian roots. All four grandparents of mine were born in India. But since they moved to Pakistan, they love Pak. I’m sure my great grandparents were proud Indians.

I know a lot of Indian Muslims and although the appreciate Pakistani culture, clothes etc- they love India their country! Clothes se kya hota hai- clothes alone do not give rise to ppl wanting to be Pakistanis.

Think about it- although these Indian Muslims “share” their country with Hindus, they’re good. We hear more Shias and Sunnis killing each other in Pakistan than Hindus and Muslims killing one another in India. So u tell me, which country has more peace?
Doubt Indians will want to move to Pakistan and leave their safer than Pak country

Re: Do Indian Muslims wish they were ‘Pakistani’?

mmm Interesting replies, thanks Reha for being honest. I suspect it may be an implicit attitude, but I’m hearing not every Indian muslim thinks as such, but I still think some do, even if it’s something they might not want to say.
