Think about it like this. Forget the marriage issue. You are overweight/obese, and it's only going to ruin your cardiovascular health, your liver, give you respiratory problems, increase risk for diabetes and all it's complications.
Not to mention the toll it takes on your self-esteem and confidence and general well-being.
So why not try to lose some weight?
I kept feeling all sorry for myself and angry , blah blah blah, and then I got my shyte together (which took a long time - like MONTHS) and I started going to the gym, and now I'm addicted. It's my one activity that gives me a lot of self esteem boost, and I get to meet other people at the gym.
I've now lost 12 lbs in the past 4 months, and I feel great, I look great, everyone is noticing at work, and I FEEL great. My sleep is awesome, my resting heart rate is lower, I can run faster so when I need to run at work, I usually outrun the guys who are all out of shape.
I might even try to start a little fitness group or gym groupies group from work, or join one of those fitness groups - people who bike together, etc.

I am 5'4 and US size 10. My mom has always been very skinny so she was always after me telling me to lose weight, and that guys only want skinny girls. One guy rejected me saying I was too fat, another guys mother told my mom that I need to lose 30 pounds and then she will proceed with the rishta. My mom taunted me about both those....but in the end, I met my husband who is way better than any of those rishtas in terms of looks, education, employment, and personality. We have been married 1.5 years (MashAllah) and he loves me more than anything.
Its all about kismat and meeting the right guy. Dont despair, and dont lose weight just for a rishta. If you want to lose weight then do it for yourself. And maybe you can become more proactive about finding someone, and not just waiting for your parents to introduce you to people (if that is what you have been doing). Join activities that you enjoy, take some classes for interest, and you never who you could meet there! InshAllah everything will fall into place for you.

More of a rant than anything else!
So im 30 and looking to get married for a good few years now spoken to many guys who all say the same thing your fat! if u loose weight we will marry you.. anywho this hasnt really bothered me much up until now when im hitting 31. My so called loved ones are constantly giving me digs about how men want slim women to marry not a fatty yes I get that! ive learnt that over the years..
For reference im 5foot tall and a uk size 14. So I went to a party weekend before last met this girl who is also looking for marriage we got talking she then introduced me to her mum who was there and said to her mum this is so and so she is also finding it hard to find someone decent she replied in punjabi "loose weight first then you may have a chance" I thought I had heard it all before but this really got to me probably due to old age!...
So my question is do bigger girls not get married are uncapable of love :( they say dont look and it will come to you well ive not looked for 2 years now yet nothing..

I hope I don't sound rude, but instead of complaining just start a workout program.
1.) Eat properly
2.) Do cardio
3.) Do weight resistance exercises

This way you will not feel "old at 30" as you will have more energy, will gain more self-esteem and be more confident and feel/look better.
Its that simple!

My sister was a bit chubby herself. She was a bit rotund she wasnt DOCUMENTARY fat. Dont underestimate personality as a selling point.

well it's not about just attracting a mate; it's also about your own health.
do you WANT to be the overweight diabetic with their leg being amputated off in 40 yrs because of poor glycemic control?
A lot of disease can be avoided if people just weren't so fat.

ever since losing weight ....... ive got a healla alot more attention. fact of life.
