Is there anything like under-dramatization as opposed to over-dramatization?

Regardless of being desi or non desi, media and politicians for examples do dramatize a lot.

You have yet to meet a gori girl I guess. Desis are no match to how they dramatize the situation.

You will hear a 10 min conversation b/w 2 gori girls with at leasts 15 times used of "i m like hello" and "oh my god" and in the end you will figure out that all that happened that a cute guy in another car smiled looking at her.

especially when the fifth son refuses to try to get into med school. all hell breaks loose, mom will not eat for days to protest, dad will not talk to him for the rest of his life as if his son's decision to be what he wants to be is the end of this world and in some cases a big source of shame in the community...OMG...i remember when i was kicked out of med school hahaha

Obviously.. When was the last time u heard a non-desi mother threaten suicide cos her son or daughter won't marry the person they want :(

A large portion of my family are white, none of them have that same level of hysteria and that habit of over dramatising things .. They do obviously have their own craziness to deal with (more serious drink/drug/teenage pregnancy related problems) but they're far better at coping imo.. prob cos they've usually been brought up less sheltered and dependent on family/community than the desis (esp the mums.. who are usually the worst when it comes to this)..

lol i'm pretty sure it's more than an observation it's pretty true.............but i've also seen non-desi's over-dramatise problems as well so i don't think it's a cultural thing it's just the way some people are

but it is fun watching people freak out over the littlest things lol :)

yeah they do! for example my dad and uncle had some disagreement about cricket game..and they didnt talk each other for a month!! :D that was so stupid, they didnt even came in same room xD

Don't you think you are playing with words rather than speaking the the truth.

Truth is as human, desis and non desis all have weaknesses and strenghts.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you give a desi any issue wait give them a non issue and they will turn it into an issue and a problem will be blown up blown up to the maximum!
