Do Bangaldeshis get annoyed/overjoyed/nuetral if people ask them if they are Indian?

Re: Do Bangaldeshis get annoyed/overjoyed/nuetral if people ask them if they are Indi

Hmmm.. my living outside of Pakistan for the past 19 years perspective, we are Pakistani first. If I meet someone who is from Pakistan, I don’t care where in Pakistan they are from. I know Indians socially divide themselves along the lines of North vs South, I saw this with ABCD Indians in college. For a lot of Pakistanis, being Pakistani is enough.

Now that is not to say I get along with alll Pakistanis. Sometimes you meet another Pakistani and if he is very into his own kind, then it becomes difficult to relate. For example, certain types of Memons for whom their entire surrounding is Memon. Their whole family lives on the same street, they speak a different language, the all work in the same family business, and don’t usually marry outside. If you talk about back home, then they only know about their one particular area of Karachi since their whole life revolved around that. In that case, they might as well be Chinese.
