Do any of you Paks in the West have close friends from India, BDesh, Afghanistan?

If so,

Can you ask them to show you the pictures of their homes, schools from backhome. If they have totally moved to the West, then ask them to show the pictures of their parents, brothers, sister’s homes from India, BDesh, Afghanistan, Iran, China.

And if you find their personal pictures (and not government propaganda video) so good that they look 100 times better than your own pictures from Pakistan, like your family’s homes etc.

Then you have every right to criticize Pakistan, Pakistan’s system, or its leadership.

However if you find MORE FOOD, MORE FRUITS, MORE MEAT being consumed in Pakistan by your family members, compared to the amount shown by the Indians, Chinese, BDEshies, Afghanistans, and Iranis,

then shame on you that you criticize Pak 24 hours, while every other guy from our neighboring country remains 100 percent patriotic even when their PERSONAL lifestyle backhome in India, BDESH, Afghnistan, and Iran and China remains abysmally low compared to the way Pakistani middle class lives in Pak.

And if you have to argue against Pak, then do post pics borrowed (after cropping out personal info) from your Indian, BDeshi friends for all of us to see.

Thank you.

p.s. The point is that we should talk about Pak where WE can help it improve, instead of sending a constant barrage of criticism.

Middle-class Indians prob live about the same level of lifestyle as Pakistanis, if not better, anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional, same for the Chinese..

Am sure they don't show 100% patriotism to their countries on their forums or dig their heads in their sand when it comes to their own problems, of course there is going to be more emphasis on Pakistan's problems on this particular forum, it's healthy to have these views rather than pretend it is some utopia. How many non-Pakistanis want to go there on holiday as opposed to India? or associate it with anything much other than Islamic extremism, political instabilty and poverty? Pakistan isn't anywhere near to being considered a possible future superpower like India or China, to suggest that the Pakistani middle-classes lead better lives than ppl in those countries (your word being their living conditions in comparison are 'abysmal') is pretty laughable..

deeba sis.

No need to muddy the water. No iffs or butts.

The question is.

If you know Indians, BDeshis, Chinese, Afghanis, Iranis etc. Ask them to show the pics of their homes or their family's homes from back country.

So whatever you want to say, pl use the pics or at least description as per the pics and then add to this thread.

Otherwise there are plenty of other threads to bash Pak.

Thank you.

I have some family in Bangladesh who I’d describe as middle-class, I’ll gladly post pics, yes I’ll admit from that particular country the ppl are poorer than the others mentioned. Am away on holiday atm tho so will be in a few days, they live in Dhaka..

In the meantime here are plenty of pics of homes, schools etc. in Bangladesh to get an idea:

This thread is about personal one-on-one info.

Have good holidays and return safely.

Looking forward to your analysis.

Thank you.

Here is picture from Afghanistan before and after the Taliban:

Seriously, who were you trying to fool? Or are you a fool yourself?

That before picture was taken before the Russians invaded. The after picture is what they left!

Go read a history book!

Re: Do any of you Paks in the West have close friends from India, BDesh, Afghanistan?

[note] I'm reopening the read. Please stick to the topic & if it goes off rails it will be closed. [/note]

sorry, you are right. the picture on the left was taken more than 40 years ago, while on the right is a recent picture of the same spot. It might have been destroyed by Russians or the so called mujaheddin. Anyway, it is very sad.

Please note.

You DO NOT need to post pictures. If you have seen them, then just post your own expressions.

The idea is to collect as much data as possible on the following.

Your family/relative house is generally better than your Indian/BDeshi/Chinese/Aftghani/Irani house.

Answer:

Yes (my family/relative's house is much bigger spacious good looking etc. )

No (My Indian/BDeshi friends' family/relative house is much bigger spacious good looking etc. )

Just add as much of your thoughts/impressions etc. either praising Pak or denigrating Pak based on your Yes/No etc.

If you select NO, then add your thoughts as to how Pakistani family homes can be improved.

Thank you.

Re: Do any of you Paks in the West have close friends from India, BDesh, Afghanistan?

My personal opinion based on observations/articles/pictures is that Pakistanis liveD better life, they CAN still live better lives from their Indian/B'deshi counterparts if we had security and law enforcement in our country. There are MANY MANY Pakistanis (including) myself who want to go back to Pakistan but lack of security prevents us from going back. I can somehow manage to live with load-shedding, bad water but I cannot manage security of family members, without worrying about a mobile-snatcher at any place/any time. And now add Talibotics to that.

Thank you.

Let's see if someone can post FIRST hand experience based on their colleagues/friends from India/BDesh/Iran/China based on their FAMILY HOME.

We are not talking about glossy calendars of government propaganda, we are talking about PERSONAL family homes and their pictures.

If you cannot leave your house, however fancy or comfortable, and get to your daily destinations without fear of explosions or kidnappings, without massive traffic jams and without eating cubic meters of pollution, what good are your material things?

If you cannot expect that your efforts in studies or work will be reasonably appreciated and rewarded, if those rewards are in fact debased by the fact that others with less merit advance on the basis of rishwat or safarish, then why study and work hard?

If you are powerless to change your situation or society, then what good is it to shout Pakistan zindabad and belittle your neighbours' houses (neener-neener!)?

Do not equate material possessions with wealth. I have traveled widely in the subcontinent. None of it is perfect, all of it is very complex, and each place has its advantages and disadvantages.

i agree with u 100 percent.shame on those who instead of thanking for what Pakistan has given them go the other way around and complain for what they lack.i actually feel pity for such people.dont know whats cooking in their identityless brain.
its more funny when expatriates do such sort of negative publicity of Pakistan.Living as a third class citizen in a developed country seems more enjoyable to them rather than living as a first class citizen in Pakistan.

Many Indians and Bangladeshi live below their means. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that choice of lifestyle, so really you cannot compare two societies by comparing photos

a couple of points

1) why just compare it to India or bangladesh or afghanistan?
2) why limit it to personal observations, that would just mean we are blind to the issues that others face
3) it does not factor in the rich-poor divide, size of middle class etc. which are all important things.

it is almost like an induced tunnel vision then?

with that said, I agree with the intent of your post that people have to not be constantly negative about everything. That has gone out of hand, and the biggest examples are when on pakistan day or independence day events or some pakistani leaders visit u see flags for MQm, PPP, NBC, ESPN whatever..and that is something i have not seen for other nations, maybe I have missed it.

and lastly to answer your question, No, the pics of middle class from India or bangladesh do not compare, China..that has changed massively in the last 10 years, my answer would be NO then, yes now.

1- not everyone lives like a first class citizen in Pakistan, we dont have stellar record with minorities, ethnic or religious. and how much money you have matters immensely, the availability of justice, speed of justice for the common person is pretty bad. elite have it easy, professionals and middle class is mixed, usually okay unless they get in some issue with ghunday badmaash. for lower middle classes, its an even larger issue.

2- when ppl want to go live in your words as third class citizens in another country than first class citizens in Pakistan. It may be pointing out that there are some problems.

the construction workers in middle east being abused, living in worker hostels, living away from family, what are they doing it for? for an ability to support their family. If we as a nation can not give people a way to learn and earn a living and move ahead in life, isnt that a basic issue.

criticism, where it is warranted, should exist, whether it is by someone sitting in model town, lyari, tokyo or dubai..

Re: Do any of you Paks in the West have close friends from India, BDesh, Afghanistan?

Indians and chinese abroad have better living standards than Pakistanis, Bangladeshis and Afghanis worse.

Re: Do any of you Paks in the West have close friends from India, BDesh, Afghanistan?

the question was not about people living abroad

Lifestyle of Indian middle class depends on whihc part of India they are from. Life style of Middle class family from mumbai will be totally different from middle class punjabi family from New delhi....North indians just like pakistanis like to do SHOWBAAZI, they like to show off....In case of a middle class familiy migrating from mumbai to karachi..........then of course in mumbai they wont even have space to dry clothes in open
