Usr - I will not think you or anyone else is ignorant. May be they don't see eye to eye but whoever is wrong will ultimately get there.
Re your question abt HQ or Hadith. My answer is neither for one simple reason: I look at these as books of wisdom rather than rules or laws. I live by my rationale, not by what others expect.
That's why it is so alien to me that perfectly smart people (and some future smart ones too) will when it comes to matters of God and religious ritual, will subjugate their inherent reason and sense of fairplay to "that's what a compliant muslim believes and does".I've cited some extreme examples of this phenomenon in earlier posts which slave was kind enough to re-quote.

Answer is may be and may be not. And also sometimes and sometimes not.
Over time I have encountered sufficient evidence to conclude cause effects that we do not understand exist. That the results of such phenomena is too orderly, goal oriented or simply beatiful to be random aligbnebts of molecules, mass and energy.
So I have no compunction now to say I believe.
However given the nature of the events, evidence and thoughts that led to here, I think "That" is highly personal and not amenable to be taught, preached, ritually derived or otherwise manipulated.
