i dont know much about our culture, but I talked to my dad who is from quetta and says yea afghans get a long blah blah…
but then I hear some AFghans hate pakistanis…and just recently I was on an afghan forum and some dude is posting this joke:
At a wedding in New York, the wine was flowing freely. One Afghan guest already heavily drunk, so he turns to another man nearby who looks like an Indian and says, “Hey maan- want to hear a Pakistani joke?”. The man, visibly seething with anger replies, “I am 200 pounds, am New York State boxing champion and I am a Pakistani. My friend, over there, is 180 pounds, is New York State judo champion, and he is also pakistani. And my friend over there is 200 pounds, is New York State arm wrestling champion, and he is also a Pakistani. Do you still want to tell me that Pakistani joke?”
The Afghan thinks for a while and replies, “Not if I have to explain it three times.”
Jokes don't display "hatred", but what one "nation" thinks of other. Mohajir telling a Punjabi joke or Pathan joke does not really mean that that Mohajir "hates" Punjabi or Pathan, but what he thinks of Punjabis or Pathans. IMO
BTW, Afghan govt never has been friendly towards Pakistani govt., except for Taliban's. May be that would effect some Afghanis, not necessarily all or majority.

That can certainly be one of the reasons, I suppose. To date, any and all Afghanis I have come across have been simple, decent, God-fearing folk compared to their neighboring Iranians.
As I have spent very close time with Afghan peaple, I will tell you what I think about this question. Normally the Afghans that have came to Pakistan as refugies and have stayed here for some time dont hate us. And those Afghans who are in Afghanistan but belongs to the Pushtoon community dont have us eigther. But the ones who stayed there and were fighting regularly, those who were called Mujahidin, before the burst of Taliban really hate us Pakistanis. And to tell you the truth I wont blame them for hating us. They have every right to hate us. :) But lets not get into that here.
So the bottom line is that, yes, there are some sectors in Afghanistan where Pakistanis are very much hated. :)
The Dari (Afghani Farsi) speakers tend to be arseholes, I shouldn’t generalise and say they are all like that but most I have come across are I’m afraid…
A decent person wouldn’t want to read about their sick habits so I’ll spare you… loll
All our servants back home are these sorts of Afghans, women work at home and the men on the fields at our farm ranch…
The Pashtun are decent people though and I’ve not had any problem with them, most of them share my conservative Islamic views and don’t have anything against us, in fact a lot of them come to Pakistan to study.
Do tell of the Afghani Farsi folks’ habits. Am curious to hear what these might be. Also, agreed…Pashtun are decent people in my experience, as are Afghanis.
I will never ever forget this one experience which is etched into my mind and most likely has biased me since then in favor of the Afghanis. When I had gone to Pakistan for vacation in '93 to attend some family weddings, many Afghanis at the time had fled through the NWFP into Chakwal and the surrounding areas of northern Punjab by the millions and had make-shift tents set up along the roads on vast open land and fields designated by the government. I was 18 at the time and full of curiosity as usual so on our way back from my dad’s village, I had our driver stop at one of the tents so that I could go in for a sec and check out what these tents housed and learn something of their occupants. The family that greeted us was a fairly young couple with extended family and children who had apparently led a very rugged life, evident from their ashen faces and wornout but beautiful, colorful clothing. With hand gestures and the two or three words of Punjabi they had picked up, they asked me and my aunt, who had accompanied me, to please sit and have some chai. Here I was, totally surprised and extremely touched by their basic humanity and sense of common courtesy which even their rugged lives had not erased. From what I recall, the family had some prayer rugs in their make-shift tent and prayer beads as well as basic requirements such as beds and stoops to sit on. You’d think the National Geographic would do a spread on such a story but I had to get “the story” on my own due to my fascination with stuff like this.
wow this forum seems so racist. I have heard how much people here hate 'other' groups more than any other place. Why is it that these "people" who ever they may be hate us like the way we hear here? There must be something about us that these people hate or why would they hate us for no reason. :)

I've noticed the opposite. Generally, they don't like us. Many or most are very violant and rude(I'm talking about males here). I've seen many afghani males beating up their daughters for hanging out with females when I was in Karachi. Heck they even had a problelms with females who went to madrasahs to learn Quran. I won't go into details but I've had very awful experiences with male afghanis. I think those who have lived in Karachi will know what I'm talking about.

Maybe that's meant as a "joke", but i really find nothing amusing in it whatsoever. What on earth is wrong with this language. In very real terms, that can be considered a very offensive word for some individuals, much like how we would feel should a gora come up to our face and call us stinky Paki.

Nadia do you mean in the same terms that people here talk about persians, afghans and call arabs ay-rabs?? :)
why do people keep throwing questions about whether one race likes another ,or not?
This whole idea is downright silly.
'Some' people from 'some' races like 'some' people from other races. Some dont. Its that simple. And they all have their reasons. No use in asking something that should be obvious enough.
Yes, it doesn’t matter who the group is that is being discriminated against. It’s just a pointless thing to do - what possible way do we benefit from it? Offensive names are thrown around as though it’s a joke. i know African Canadian friends, both Muslims and nonMuslims, who would find that word very, very offensive - along the same lines as making a “joke” about raping someone. Frankly i don’t think we can stoop lower than that.

This is probably very politically incorrect thing to say but Karachi suffered tremendously under the Afghan refugee influx. Drugs. AKs. Crime.
Afghans shop keepers in the older neighborhoods of the city were notorious for physical and often fatal violence against the locals business owners (who had been there since the Partition or even earlier).
