I think wedding is incomplete without cards... but online invites sounds different and nice too :) And im sure its more practical if you have many relatives abroad.

yeah i love the online cards idea,but in pak its not worth is,as many ppl dont use net or pcs,especially the elderly women class:)

Ubton or Mayon..?
I'm designing my Ubton card nowadays, jus not too sure what to write..?
All the cards we'v received in the past, have the word Mayon.
Just wanted ur help guys which is the write word?

Mayon, I believe, is where you put oil (tael) and ubtan...whereas, ubtan is just for putting ubtan. In the end, it really depends on what you're having, but I think mayon is more traditional.
DIY Invitation Cards - Dholki, Mayoon, Mehndi
Suggest me nice ideas for home made invitation cards. I am thinking of making something on photoshop and gettingi t printed on nice, solid paper. I am looking for more creative ideas so help me out.
It's invitation for dholak party only so i think instead of ordering it from a shop it should have some personal touch :-)

I've designed my Ubton card, got printing done from a shop nearby.. Sorry can't share the pic at the moment. But will surely do sometime later...

i made my engagement cards myself printed the detail on to trancpareny paper then stuck it down on to shine card i have attached a pic , blured out the names

Hmmmm, I prefer 'Ubtan' with an 'a' not 'Ubton' with an 'o'.
BTW, how did you design your card? I mean if you designed it on the computer, please do tell about the program.

I made my wedding cards myself too. I'l see if I can find a copy and post a pic. We had a really small wedding so it wasn't really a big deal.

yeh i put them in plain white envelopes and printed the name and a small picture also printed address if it was to be posted, i also made small sticker with my name and my fiancés name and put them at the bck to seal them

You can have a dholak shaped invitation and print out the matter inside.
BTW, do you have a colour scheme in mind for the dholki? I just love this combination for a dholki card:
