im making my invites too!
i was just thinking of getting sum light yellow card and printing out the wording in a dark green colour with sum pics on it.
im thinking of starting the wording with...'mehndi ki raat...aap ki saath'
Make cards that look like "chunri" u can get small stamps and stick to a color theme..whatever it may be! yellow/orange, orange/green, yellow/pink!

^ Thanks, SGC. They are certainly not professional looking, but everyone seems to find them exciting, and that's the idea! I even got a few people asking me where I got the "dhol" paper. I was like, um...I drew that...

Sahar, those are beautiful! And something so traditional like dhols, etc gel so well with the mehndi/mayun/dholki theme.

you can attach little bells (the kind that are on payals) to the ends of each card. that would look soo cute for a mehndi/mayoun invite.

i dnt kno what my cards are gunna look like yet, but my brother is a graphics designer so im sure we wil come up with sumfing creative, but i decieded to my nearest n dearest gals with the invitataion im giving them a mendhi cone and mendhi colours (yell, org,green) churiya wat u gals think?

If you are having an ubtan ceremony and going to rub ubtan on each other:
"Its a wedding but we are still going to have a fight, an ubtan fight that is! So wear your old yellow clothes garahars are even better and join us for an old fashioned mayon for Chnui Muni on such and such date and time!!"
If not then;
"We have decided to go the old world way (or write old fashioned way) and have Chunni Muni's mayon separate from the mehndi! To Carry the old world classy look further please dress in gahraras and join us for a lot of fun at such and such date and time!!"

I've heard the word Mayon is used for guys and ubtan for gals, is this true..?

I think one thing you might have to think about is how you're going to distribute the cards along with the attached gifts to people. If you're mailing them out then it might be difficult, no?

I have herad both ubtan and mayon interchangably for girls. For boys I have heard Mayon or Manjha.

Hey I dont know if anyone has ever tried this but for my cousins mendhi we did an online invite... it was good bcuz we saved the money, time, and it still looked nice... we went to a website (cant remember the name) and all you have to do is put the message you want and a mailing list and it sends.... it was good cuz there was like an rsvp section so people know who else is coming... what to wear section so people can write what they r wearing if they want.. (u can put your dresscode),, dance and music section ... rasams... it was really good.....

^ wow sounds great! & u can also put the names of songs that willbe played on mehndi day so everyone can prepare & practice some nice dance steps too lol, but i think it won’t work in Pakistan specially for all our elderly ppl will say Hoo Hai..Computer da inna shawk… 
want to complete it but dont know how to pronounce correctly in punjabi
