i see, but of course what really counts here is what you and your husband think... i think even if you convinced yourself that the text message constituted divorce you'd still have to overcome the problem of convincing your husband to that effect given that he believes he hasn't divorced you... if you feel so strongly about separating you can institute khul yourself... as was earlier said, at some point you need to take the advice of someone far more learned than us here... there are a number of factors involved that need to be brought out in the open and analysed...
of course, you absolutely should not have to suffer physical (or emotional) violence and not be financially supported...
