sometime, people do nikkah only. and delay rukhsati and waleem for certain period

We do it if someone gets married, or if a baby is born. We give out mithai here and then in our village back in Pakistan I have seen my Nanajan distribute mithai or sugar or halwa.

In villages the traditions are changing, but I observed that mithai does not necessarily mean expensive items (like Qala qand, Rus gulle, Gulab jaaman, etc), people used to distribute sugar (say half a cup), zarda, etc

This is not fazoool kharchi and mostly the mithaii is giving to poor people or lil kids which is good I guess, poor people can’t aford the food,let alone the mithaii, so why not giving them mithaii and get some duas.

maine rishte daaron ki baat ki hai…ghareeb logon ki nahi. zaroor batni chahiye mithai agar khushi ko express karna hai but limit main karna chahiye. khair sab apne apne tareeqe se karte hain.

Bache ge to Karoo gi, last year in Pakistan on eid ate 2 kg gulab
Jamuns in one day.

So people distribute sweets/mithaii when they hear some good news,or if they arrived safe from a long journey,
It’s common in Sindhi, seen it in Lahore too,what you personally think about this?
