The sooner you accept them for who they are the better for you. Dont try changjng people whose habits are of a lifetime. as long as your hubby is ok with you thats all that matters. Your inlaws dont have to like you. Deep down maybe they dont accept you for being their sons choice u just have to suck it up and get on with it. I say thjs as ive experienced crap with myowb inlaws. I do my basics and leave it at that. Just be glad you know all this before you married ur hubby a d not after.

Because the OP is her husband's pasand, choice, etc, please do not think your in laws will be all over you. Don't have expectations about anything. You seem to have ALOT.
Stop comparing how your family does it versus his family. You will never find peace or happiness that way.
Read enough stories here , plenty of apni pasnad ki shaadis, with zero/ or very formal strained relations with in laws.
Take it day at a time. Focus on your marriage, your husband, and stop the nit picking.
