Anti-Muslim group membership - well, without studying them in any sort of detail, I can only guess. The top reasons that come to mind would be hatred for those who are different, propaganda that involves painting all Muslims with the same brush for the actions of a very small minority, ignorance, misconceptions/lack of education, lack of actual contact with Muslims. I’ve had English and French Canadian friends/colleagues mention how different groups have been looked down upon in the past.
Why do you see little immigration from Pakistan - I’m not going to pretend that I know any relevant statistics, but how many Pakistanis are immigrating here would not be relevant without knowing how many are trying. I know in the past, they had a lengthy process to process immigration applications from there due to their higher suspicion of fraud from there. I know of many who have recently immigrated. The common thing with them is that they possessed skills/education that were in demand or they studied and graduated here.
Pakistanis becoming one of the poorest ethnicities in Canada - Again I won’t pretend I know these statistics, or even if the statement is true. I assume if you know of any such study, you would probably be able to get more insight from there.
All that being said, I can’t see any correlation between RV’s attitude/behaviour to any of the above based on anything I’ve read from her. So after trying to answer your questions, I’m still no closer to getting the answer to mine.
