All in all, I think we can all agree that the jerk who beat his wife should be punished and she'd be better off without the abusive idiot.....I've heard it said and I quite agree that people who dont have enough brains to settle their disputes are the ones inclined to resort to using their fists instead.

The narrow mindedness that I referred to in my comment was not directed to the proposed resolution of divorce, rather it was directed to the condemnation that the poor girl will face as a divorced pakistani woman.
The emotional torture that will be bestowed upon her for the rest of her life by narrow-minded individuals who believe that it's better to suffer through an abusive relationship rather than get out, is probably an obstacle that most women do not have the endurance to overcome; hence they live out their lives being demeaned and beaten.

JUSTICE....
....and in the process, a lesson for the rest of society teaching other potentially violent individuals that you will not be able to get away without being punished if you behave this way.

Its fine to me to hang him, and he should be, but think about all those women living in Pakistan, can they also do like this ? can they hang thier husbands who are doing the same stuff ? but just because they are in Pakistan, they are silent!
And what is your point?
I feel for the women that are unable to receive this kind of justice because they are in a society that doesn't provide adequately for them. But just because they cannot, does not mean that a woman in a position to receive it should pass it up.
What good can she do for those women by letting this man go unpunished?

Update- She is not going to deal with the guy going forward. good for her. the rest of her family is fully behind her.
