make them realise by looks or smiles that you got what they meant but ignore them and let them know they are not important enough to be discussed 
so that they know keh koi bahut bara teer nai mara unhoan ne..bongi mari hai

That’s how I usually respond. I smile, nod and ignore. But then I keep thinking why are these morons allowed to get away with it? Someone needs to tell them to shut up.

No but saying "omggg you got 80%, you're so smartttt... but it is very easy to get 80% in this subject" would be a disguised insult.

I don't generally get it till waaaaaaaaaay afterwards, but if I do I just smile and swear at them in my head :) Or say something terrible to them which then makes me feel guilty and eats me up inside later.

after maybe 1 or 2 encounters of softness, you should give as good as you get. i'm talking about that. :P

I don't ever let it slide, esp. if done in front of people. If someone belittles you, you should never let it slide. Not saying you should stoop down to their level but there is always a way to teach them a lesson.

I usually respond but in a light hearted humorus way...that way I get my point across without being argumentative.

Confront them IMMEDIATELY. If they say something like "oh 80% is so easy to get in this subject", ask them "So are you calling me stupid? or are you telling me that what I have accomplished is not really an accomplishment?" They will start back peddling with "noo, I just meant.." and you just go on the offensive "No but what do you MEAN by that, on one hand you're telling me I'm so smart and on the other hand you're telling me 80% is so easy to achieve, so which is it, do you think I'm smart or stupid, I don't really care what you think and if you hadn't said anything, no big deal, but you opened the door with what you just said so please, kindly, enlighten me, what are you trying to say?"
Just get right up their arse, make them very uncomfortable in their own skin for saying what they did, just keep asking "but what did you mean?"
