I wonder, what do the proponents of intolerant Islam think of Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, James Dobson, Franklin Graham, et al? I imagine you think they are self righteous, misguided and arrogant bigots. Well,what makes you any different other than in your opinion you are right and they are wrong? A third party observer would lump you all in the same category.
You can’t say things like “it’s a fact that all non-muslims will go to hell”. Because it isn’t. It’s an opinion. Your ‘facts’ mean nothing to the 6 billion people in this world who don’t follow your beliefs. And to come across with such self righteous indignation is arrogant, insulting and persumptuous, whether it be from a Christian or Muslim fundamentalist. **And as a moderator of a religion forum, shouldn’t it be your duty to keep such judgmental and damning comments to yourself? You have ZERO credibility as a moderator with such statements. **

If he doesn’t stand for anyone mocking Islam then he shouldn’t be mocking other beliefs by condemning them all to hell. So if he deletes your post, someone needs to be deleting his.
I am shocked that a moderator is allowed speak so ill of other faiths. If the name of this forum was the Fundamentalist Sunni Muslim forum that would be one thing. Perhaps it should be renamed so the rest of us hell-bound heathens won’t pollute his kingdom. Now excuse me, but I am goint to prepare for my journey into the everlasting fire by going to the tanning bed.

For beginners, could I have the Christian, Jewish and Hindu viewpoints on what will happen to the individuals in the Hereafter who do not follow their religion? References from the religious texts would be much appreciated.

Anyone who takes interest in Islam must be approached in a welcoming and positive way. This jahilia attack on them and reminding them about the hell fire as soon as they take a slight interest in islam is just plain stupid.
Islam is not about slitting throats or hellfire (I am sure Mr. Lajawab will disagree, but I dont care). It has alot that attracts people from other faith, and we could use that to strengthen their interests. Anjjan, when are u converting bro?

Two points...
Quran differentiates between "kuffaar" and "ahle-kitaab". Quran also acknowledges that some ahle-kitaab do shirk, but still they are ahle-kitaab.
All the punishments mentioned in the Quran are for those who die in the state of kufr. A person who is alive, still has a chance to repent in this life and embrace the right path. Therefore, the attitude should be to bring people to Islam in a positive way, as Islam is the true path for the believers. If, however, someone dies in the state of kufr, his/her matters are in the hands of Allah.

Yes, Allah (SWT) will deal justly with those who die as disbelievers. Allah (SWT) has also clearly stated what their end would be like. Please refer to the ayahs I quoted from the Quran.

I realize fundamentalists of many religions (like Pat Robertson and other bigoted Christians you most likely loathe) believe that theirs is the only path to salvation. MY POINT was that it is not the place of a moderator of a religion forum to tell posters they will burn in hell if they don’t follow that moderator’s beliefs. To a lesser degree IMO, it is arrogant and ignorant of anyone to tell that to someone of another faith. But it crosses the line when that arrogance comes from someone who is supposed to be moderating a discussion forum on religion.
And of course it is mocking someone else’s faith by telling them they will burn in hell if they don’t convert to their own religion as it implies their faith is a mockery for saying otherwise.

Point is, none of the people who are on the receiving end of the tirade, are dead, yet. If the idea is to bring them to Islam, then surely there are better ways than threatening them. If the idea is to mock them, then the present strategy is working beautifully.

Faisal, from what I could understand, armughal more or less said those who die as disbelievers will end up in Hell. On the contrary, more or less many others seemed to have been thinking otherwise. Posting the verses from Quran has only clarified the matter.
Yes, there are many other ways to invite others to Islam. However, while we're discussing what would happen to those who die as disbelievers (in Islam), it would be wrong to hide the verses altogether or to say that what armughal has said is wrong from an Islamic perspective.

I do not follow dogmatic Christian doctrine. But in modern day Christianity, as with most of their practices, there is little conistency in their beliefs. It can vary from believing all other faiths are satanism and they will burn in hell fire to people will be judged individually based on works.
My personal belief of the afterlife is very different from the 7 layer physical pleasure palace. I believe it is a continuation of our spiritual journey to get closer to God.

I'm not too familiar with Bible, otherwise, I would've looked it up myself.
