Govt have said that in few days Pakistan would be producing 16000 MW..and today the production is 14000 MW… they also said that govt is making sure all thermal power generation plants get required furnace oil…
So nearing election Zardari decided to switch on the electricity… if i re-call it right govt was struggling to generate 10,000 MW only in February this year and now suddenly they can generate 16000 MW… Alla-ddin ka chiragh mil gaya hay kya ??

I passed last week in Lahore and I am often there, Situation is not so bad there and not praising them but perhaps they realized. This is little benefit of Q presence because they are not in control of Malkoo N.

I can agree with you on lesser load-shedding but that will be only for small part of Karachi as thats where my family is. But other parts of Karachi and Lahore, I’ve heard of load-shedding lot worse like 6-10 hours, sometimes on the trot.
How does Malkoo feature here?

Why not just cut off electricity so we can read and pray under the chiraags like the "salafs" or taliban would do? Perhaps the stone aged cities can allow industries to run on full power.

Malkoo N. Zardari is under influance of Malkko and cabinet is under influence of Zardari.
Malkoo is known as key between Zadari and establishment and Zardari and US.
And perhaps you know are not, Foreign affairs, finance and defense ministers are selected by establishment . Interior minister is already a tout. Ports and shipping is reserved for MQM always.

Coal 2nd largest reserves.

this stupid government’s still cannot produce electricity from all the resources at their disposal to satisfy the public that is complete failure they need to go!

Over the last three years, what I have observed is
1) Price of electric power has gone up as never before.
2) No considerable decrease in load shedding. Actually, it has increased.
3) There are days when there is virtually no load shedding then we start getting news of short falls. short falls increase almost every day in thousands of Mega watts. Load shedding gradually increases and goes up to 15-18 hours of daily power cuts. People go in streets, burn tires, attack WAPDA offices, shout slogans against the government. Load shedding gradually goes down.
4) Load shedding is often due to non- payment of fuel bills for the thermal power plants.
5) Our minister of power strove hard to sell the idea of installing rental power plants that are basically thermal power plants while government either don't have money to pay the fuel bills or lacks the will to do it.

3 to 4.5 hours a day .... on scheduled time - and i live in central karachi :)

which part are you in and whats your load-shedding schedule like? my parents tell me that 1-1.5 hours of load-shedding at a time and it happens about 3 times a day (known times) but they also have 2-phases, so if one goes out they utilize other.

In Lahore currently I dont know but upto a week back the loadshedding was between 10-12 hours daily, for the past 3 years at least I have seen loadshedding in the tune of 8-12 hours there and in smaller cities and towns of Pakistan you can imagine

From the last two days at least in Faisalabad their wasn’t load-shedding even for a minute. Felt like a Jannat :k:
