Maybe India should think about going in with 6 batsmans rather than 7, if your top 6 don't play good then what are the chances of number 7 scoring a big knock.

They already go with 6 batsman (unless you consider Harbhajan a batting star, which is OK :D). If they were smart, they would've given practice to one more regular bowler. Now it's too late. Aussies are going to make juice from that weak 5th bowling position (and maybe the others too).

I think the ministery picks Mongia as a Nazar-Maata to avoid a bad omen for the Indians from cross border Eye Terrorism.
Currently the fift bowling option so far has been between Dinesh Mongia, Ganguly, Sehwag, Yuvraj and Tendulkar, sadly none of them have what it takes to upset the Aussies, maybe Tendulkar is useful for a breakthrough every now and then like Afridi but he can be dependent on to bowl 7 or 6 overs in big matches.
My advice would be to bring in Kumble in place of Mongia.
They go with 7 batsmen and four bowlers
