okay so i’m very blessed to have my dream outfit for my rukhsati…however, I ordered an outfit from Ayesha Khadeeja but that was before my inlaws told me I could get one from Karma or HSY…yes, my outfit is nice, but who in their right mind would give up Karma or HSY for a new designer???
this situation is eating me up inside because Ayesha’s already been paid 50% and my inlaws are already pissed that she was pretty rude to them when they went to look at the outfit and pay the deposit…I’ve been arguing back and forth with my husband for about two days now and he’s like it’s ur fault for placing the order but had I only know wut other options I had…
now i’m completely bitter and whiney…when I know i should feel so lucky to even have a nice outfit and be happy, but i just keep thinking about wut I could have had not wut I do have…
how do i get over myself and being so VAIN??? (yes. i know i’m vain. and i know i’m hardheaded…plz knock some sense into me)
here is the outifit i ordered…i know it’s not bad at all…but i just hate the fact of letting hsy or a karma outfit go out of my hands!!!
well it's a lovely outfit so i wouldn't feel bad about it. if the same outfit had a hsy or karma label attached to it you wouldn't be feeling like this at all! so just concentrate on the outfit itself and not the designer.
i mean if you had really liked a particular outfit by HSY or Karma but couldn't afford it, you would have done your best to get an awesome copy made instead of looking elsewhere.
what about your walima outfit? can they not get you an hsy or karma outfit for that instead?
lol, ok. well i still stick by what i said in the first paragraph. it's the dress that is important, not the designer.
but if you really can't let go, then perhaps they can do something else with that 50% deposit?
maybe ask AK if they can make a heavy formal or sari or something with that money and tell your in-laws that you will pay for it as part of your jahez instead?
anyway, why aren't they giving it back? that's really bad if they ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit.
if your inlaws are unhappy too, then it seems like a good idea to suggest getting it from HSY or Karma instead. they might just be open to it- and yes, i think stoppits suggestion of having another outfit made with the 50% deposit is super smart and a good solution- a heavy sari would be lovely to have as part of your bari, no? your inlaws would avoid the 50% nonrefundable deposit pain, and you'd get your HSY or Karma. and if not, then seriously, its such a gorgeous outfit, i'd stick to it with no regrets.
my inlaws are unhappy with the fact that she was really rude to them and they're sorta taking it out on me now coz they're not at all telling me what other outfits i'm getting coz they think i changed my mind and it's not right to go back and cancel the order......
Ayesha would have a fit if i told her to cancel the outfit....i guess i'm a pushover coz i'm too scared that if i tell her to just make a heavy sari instead and only use the 50 percent that was given and i cant get another outfit in time, then i'm just completely screwed over in all aspects of the situation....my wedding's in august and everyone is just saying its too late
it's gorgeous......but nothing compared to the karma outfit i saw online a few days ago....siiigh
ok in that case, here's the thing- you can't have a new outfit. this one is GORGEOUS, easily as gorgeous as the Karma ones out there- and you can always get a karma outfit as a sari (again, maybe make a bari request thru your fiance? their saris are stunning and you'd probably get more wear out of it too) or a gharara for maybe a siblings wedding later on. right now, i'd avoid the additional hassle and stress and the last thing you want is the designer of your valima outfit to be mad at you- you dont want shoddy workmanship and you dont want to deal with your upset inlaws, you know?
so chill, its all good.
^completely agree with all sgc's points. especially in regards to the bari request through your fiance. i'm sure he can think of some tactful way of getting his parents to make you one without it sounding like you have suggested it at all.. ehehehhee.

good idea though about requesting an side outfit or a sari from karma. we're going to pakistan anyway in a few months, and i've made him promise me to take me to all the nice boutiques so i can just get one then....but i think i'll ask him to order me a sari or a very heavy formal from there right now so i can be happy about that.
i am afraid that she might do something to my outfit so i'm just going to keep my mouth shut and go with the flow

i think u shouldn't stress over it. that outfit is beautiful mA and ur going to look amazing iA.
butttt if ur still interested in the hsy or karma... pay for the one u already ordered urself...and than have the inlaw's pay for the new one you want.
but like u mentioned u have a time crunch so don't stresss urself out about this.
maybe ur inlaw's will get u a hsy or karma outfit for another occasion of just to give u as a present.
I went to Aisha Khadija's outlet...and I actually loved the work on the stuff there...
IMO it was alot better than some of the HSY stuff...and Aisha Khadija is damn expensive too...how much are you paying for this one??
i don't know about Karma in person but a friend of mine just came back from karachi in june and she said she went to The Designer's store or whatever it is, and HSY's stuff was not at all impressive in person. she looked over all the designs there and then went and got it made for a fraction of the cost from tariq road.

Wht do u really want? wht do u picture urself in???? Everyone has different tastes, but on ur wedding day it should be YOUR taste. If you decide on using the 50% deposit on Ayesha'a formals and saris, I suggest you do it ASAP before they start making the gharara. If you are ok with the gharara, then focus your energy on getting gorgeous formals from HSY or Karma:):):)

yep.....pretty much the same, but not a sharara.......a lehnga..with sleeves....and short shirt....nope just that one pic is all i got but thank u....i like the color a lot
