i love photography and i want to buy a new digital camera. i am going for point and shoot camera because i am not yet comfortable with a SLR camera, i am scared that what if i spend so much money on buying and one but never understand how to make it work correctly. i am interested in Canon’s power shot G9 i read reviews about it all over the internet, it seems like a nice camera the only problem with this camera is shutter delay.
i just need some people’s recommendations has anyone used canon’s power shot G9?? or if you have a camera that you really like, let me know about it, i really want some serious reviews over digital cameras.
I have not used the G9 but have used the G4, G5 and G6. Its an excellent line.
Besides Canon (I have 3 of them) I own the Nikon D70s (DSLR) and since I saw the results with that camera I've stopped using other cameras. It was a bit expensive but one can't discount the quality. Nikon also came out with the D40 which is a DSLR as well but a little less expensive.
isn't nikon more manual than canon's DSLR??? i also wanted to buy either canon's rebel xti or nikon's D40 but i was scared what if i can't figure out how to use it then all my money will be wasted.
Both have similar over-rides but also have fully automatic options as well. Learning how to use SLR’s is half the fun, the control with which you can take pictures. Here’s a very detailed article for startup photographers. Very comprehensive, I love it.
The Canon S3 IS and the S5 IS will give you that SLR feel you want. I don't know that much about photography to tell you how different they are from the G9, but when I was playing with the G9 at the store, I kept saying to myself "Oh, my S3 has this feature too, oh this is similar"
i bought S3 IS in august but returned it because i wasn't satisfy with the picture quality, too much red eye, pictures were blurry a lot. i loved the zoom and how fast the shutter was but i didn't like rest of the features.
and thanks for the article i will read it to see i can use an SLR or not
Am I the only one with a sucky Canon powershot A4? Everything else is fine and dandy but the shutter speed, well there is none? I have to wait at least 3-4 seconds for camera to return to shooting mode after having taken a picture. And yes, I’ve read the camera guide from front to back a few times, and even played with the settings, I cannot change the settings.
So much for candid moments. By the time my nalaiq camera returns to shooting mode, my subject/subjects have dispersed
baji phir wo kodak ka camera ata hai water wala one time reel dalti hai jismay infact dali hoyi miltee hai and camera plastic mai band hota hai, 5 US ka mil jaye ga
If you are in the market for DSLR get the Nikon D40, its about $500 for the body. D300 is for high end professional photographers (unless u can afford whatever).
