digi cams

totally confused… what type of digi cam should i go for?

im looking into canon and pentax

should i go for a 3 megapixel or 4? is there much difference? what should i look out for?

advice needed…

thanks :flower2:

canon Powershot S1 IS, by far one of the best cameras for its price:

http://www.canon.ca/english/index-products.asp?lng=en&prodid=594&sgid=23&gid=2&ovr=1

check canon Powershot A 80 as well..

for 4x6 prints 3.2 Megapixels are enough, but to leave room for some cropping 4 Megapixels isn't bad to have.

As for what u should look for .. it's mostly what's high on your list.. do u want it to be stylish, small, intuitive simple or feature rich, customizable, advanced.etc etc .. it's all upto you.

For a 4MP camera i'd recommend a CCD size of at least 1/1.8".

thanks guys :k:

i just wanted something small, relatively easy to carry around everywhere.. sharp shots, ability to record a 2-3 min movie… and thats bout it

outlaw, my bro has a canon Ixus.. which is an awesome camera too.. how do u compare that to the one u put a link upto?

im gonna check that out too Baba G, thanks

yikes.. just checked the price out for the PowerShot S1 IS, its $800+… i was looking at max $500… thanks though :k:

try the Canon IXUS series, or Minolta :)
they are easy to use, not that expensive and look nice aswell :D

canon rocks!! go for canon!

sad i haven't tried IXUS series, so can't really comment. The only ones that I know quite well are the ones I mentioned. If S1 IS is out of your price range, then definitely Power Shot A 80. It's definitely worth its price..

Minolta got some very small cameras. They use a periscope to save space and yet still have a decrnt lens. Pentax also woth a look.

Although not what you are after but the fuji s5000 SLR type is a very good camera for the money about £230. Uses fujis super CCD at 3M but interplorated to 6M. Costing a little more is the S7000 which has a real 6M CCD once again doubled with interploration.

** just wanted something small, relatively easy to carry around everywhere.. sharp shots, ability to record a 2-3 min movie… and thats bout it**

She wants something EASY to use, not a prosumer camera

these are pic made with an Canon Ixus 400/420
and yes, its holland

my bro has the canon ixus which is an awesome camera, but i wanted to go for somethign different.. infact pretty much everyone here has that cam

i looked up about three yesterday, after outlaw mentioned the powershot..

heres the 3 ive narrowed my choice down to:

Canon Powershot A85
Pentax Option S40
Pentax Option S4

go for the canon A85
heard alot of good things about it
the quality of em is better then the other two :k:

thanks Praet... im gonna go read some reviews on the cam, and then go get it inshallah... :)

your not a professional who needs everything set manual :k:

I think you ll enjoy this one just as mutch as the canon one
go for it :k:

saddzzz. check out .. www.camerastore.com.au

thats where i bought my camera from.. pretty cheap compared to other places ;)

tsk.. my bro put me off the pentax.. the search has begun again..

i think its either gonna be the canan powershot a75 or a85 hmm

thank brissy.. gonna check the site out now :)

My advice would be: GO FOR A Canon.

i’d vote against the A75.. didn’t like the picture quality of that camera at all :nook:

okies, meri mushkil asaan hogayi

my bro is giving me his canon ixus ii  hes gonna get the 430 himself cus i cant seem to afford the camera and card…
