Must every guppy announce they're getting a digicam? More than often the advice amounts to nothing when the guppy asker buys something of his or her own liking.
We should have a i'm-getting-a-digi-cam sticky. post ur name, camera, incy wincy review and spare a new thread!

Hi Sadzzz,
I actually bought this camera a month ago with a different model # and specs..Its a 3.6 mgpxl with 65 sec Movie clip , OB 16mb card ( I bought a separate SSD with 128MB enuff for 110 pictures.
This camera has a flip-flop screen and very practical. The body is same as above…paid including SSD CD $ 465.00 after discount…you have to experiment a lot with first few trials…
hey Raindance.. that camera seems sooo practical! i love the flip flop screen… so u ended up gettign two? i just read a few reviews about the camera… and they werent that good, so i got put off sigh should have just gone with my instincts…
Islamabad.. that looks like a nice cam :k: but i think its a bit biggish for me… im the worlds biggest cluts.. i wouldnt know what to do with that cam… thanks though
5MP on anything less than a digital SLR is like a dodge neon with a 500 hp engine.
Flip screens might be cool on video cams, but they are cumbersome on digicams, and a big liability if you accidentally drop the cam. gimmick alert.
Fujifilm cameras are horrible, cheap, and come with tons of MPs.
Thin and tiny cams are fancy, but wont hold still when you want to take that easy 1/60th exposure pic.
digital photography is still more about optics and less about electronics. get a cam which gives crisp focus all through the pic, and close to perfect color reproduction.
And the single most annoying thing about digicams - time delay between pressing the shutter button, to the time cam autofocuses. BIG delay when compared to film cams. DO NOT buy a cheap digicam if you like taking fast pics.

So what would you suggest that is not horrible or cheap. Btw check the price and qualities of the first fuji picture I posted. It is great and I have it. I tried many and found it to be the best. It has 6X optical zoom, which is pretty good. 3.2 pixels and 1.8 " lcd monitor. The pictures are pretty clear and crisp.
There is ofcourse a positive relationship b/w price and features.
Fuji are very good for quality of pictures and price ratio. They use a slightly different CCD which has its pixels mounted at 45 degrees to cut a long story short the pixels are bigger comapred to a same size CCD so you get better results. Have a look at the Fuji s5000 you wont get any cameras that will compete with it on features and price. It may only have 3M pixels but how many of us print larger than A4.
