I am from Indian Punjab; sometimes on a clear day we get Pakistan TV. In my village their are mostly Sikh Rajputs of the Janjua sub caste. There is a famous pakistani boxer Amir Janjua.
The Jatt/Rajput subcastes of Sandhu, Gill, Virk, Mann etc etc are found among both muslim, sikh and hindu jat.
My mom's village has a lot of Sainis....this caste is called Arain in Pakistan.
The Punjabi Chamar + Chura is the same on both sides of the border.
As for rest of India; I agree; South Indians are a totally different race.
The punjabi and sindhi ethnic continuum goes onto india. Thats why you see that paunjabi and sindhi cultures are almost identical to northern part of indians. their culture, cuisine, language etc are identical. alot of punjabies here claiming to be ancestors of 'central asian' and 'arab' rulers are only kidding themselves. mostof punjab of and sindh were both hindu, it was western pakistan (nwfp, kashmir(including northern areas), and western edges of punjab(taxila etc) where buddhism had a stronghold.
I have in the IT industry for the past 7 years; I am a project manager. I have yet to see a pakistani PM. As for coders; I have seen or met hunderds of Indian (90% south indian) programmers but less than 3-4 pakistani programmers.
I have met one pakistani network admin and one help desk person.

People from NW India (East-Punjab etc.) are the same as Pakistanis, it's impossible to tell a Sikh from a Muslim, not only are there racial similarities but even cultural ones, you can only tell a Sikh male apart due to kesh and turban but the old ladies outside the Gurdawara look 100% Pakistani..
Gujaratis and stuff are a bit different from us both and Keralites and Goans are like wayyyyyyy different.
ALright, I'm back, I can devote a bit of time to this now. To show my good will towards Indians, I will first show how Pashtuns are not Iranian, and then I will show how Pakistan is not Indian. Along with a few other bits. First task, need to be able to load up images.
We don't have any property or relatives in Indian Occupied Kashmir, not that I know off, so I guess we are from Pakistan controlled Kashmir...
My last name is Butt, so not sure if that helps you narrow it down or not
yea, your family is most liekly from the area of jammu in kashmir, alot of them who immigrated to pakistan during or couple of years before partition. Alot of kashmiri's immigrated from kashmir into pakistan(alot of kashmiris who were originaly from jammu settled in mainly sialkot and lahore) during partition, but alot of them have unofrutanely lost alot of there kashmiri heritage(such as language).
By the way Im originaly from naltar.
There's something about some Indians which is very sexy, not all are arseholes, I know we Pakis let our emotions get the better of us but not all Indians are bad people, I passionately hate the ones who hate Pakistan and Islam like that Vinesh guy on here or the older posters like rvikz, rani and a few backstabbing bstrds in real life, Indians like that make me want to hate all Indians but not all are like that just like we're not all terrorists.
Femme.. can u delete this post. I dont want to respond to this bs.
to pp,
what % of pakistanies are backstabbers. All are pak or what.:D. In every country in every race and in every religion there are people with issues and egoes. It could be almost the same percentage too in different countries. Does it do u any good if you know u r descendent of a pathan or dravidan.
U may as well be a descendent of a monkey. God knows.!!! I havent seen a very fair pakistani in my life. Benazir Bhutto is but the pakistanies i meet around have almost the same shade of colour or even slightly darker than my shade. I dont come from any north india or pakistan, I am a proud southerner.
Does it make u feel any better. What do u think, all dravidans(south indians) are small and dark!!!. So let me break that out for you. Only the lowest hindus classes are black. Mostly SC and ST. They are also shorter. Not all of them too.The rest of the caste people have all kinds of shades and all kinds of height too. Yes depending upon the place and the sun tan people are more darker than the northerners. Example in kerala which is also very southern they are more fair to brown skin people than blacks. Tamilnadu have a more darker skin people but not by a lot. And by the way Shilpa Shetty is a southerner and born in TamilNadu. :D. Her language is Tulu, a language spoken in the hilly areas bordering kerala, tamil nadu and karnataka.
^^ Shilpa Shetty looked really dark and average looking in Big Brother, i guess that was because she didnt have 10 tonnes of fair and lovely on her to make her self look more fair skinned
here a post of roadrunner for you. :D. Answer to this. Besides, your opinion doesnt count. To me she is sexy.
I agree with most of the rest of your post though. The media attention is a waste of time (probably to deflect from politics), and she knew what sort of show it is to start. Indians need to stop worshipping her. I mean it's not as if they much look like her anyways.
^^ I beleive what roadrunner was saying that with 10 tonnes of Fair and Lovely, Shilpa looks like a Pakistani girl but without she just looks like an average indian girl
I went to this Bollywood Show in Toronto, where these Indian movie stars came and performed their hit songs. Bipasha Basu looked so dark in person that I thought she was black.
So I assume that Bollywood makeup artists are really good in which they can even make dark bengali and dark tamil girls look almost like Pakistani
And its not just an Indian obsession
People in Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam all prefer people who are light skinned
guys...relax. different does not mean better.
so guys who are proving that we are different, if we are different its no accomplishment
and people arguing with it, insisting that we are the same is not goign to make it so.
I mean this should be an academic discussion. lets see how much the overlap s and isn't and then let it be.
rest are all personal choices right, whether someone likes dark and short folks or tall and fair, or nordic, or chinese or whatever.
lets just share what ppl know on similarities and differences. hopefully we dont forget in this process that we have one big similarity, we are human.
Hey guys I lived in London for two years! I came across with people from Somalia, France, Italy, Philppines and the goras! Most of them asked how do you differentiate between a pakistani and indian? So we are same in eyes of people from around the world!
Sanskrit is not a Pakistani language but Ancient Bhartvarsham’s language…Present day Pakistan was a part of that ancient Nation…one part of which is known as India, others as Pakistan, Bangladesh and some of the present southeast Asian nations. I know there are some instituions in Bnagladesh where Sanskrit is still taught. Nav Dveeps (Nine Islands) were part of this ancient country..which extended upto Java/Sumatra and Borneo.
Back to the point…Khatris..the business community..many people belonging to this community have “Ram” as surname for instance…Bharat Ram et al. While ‘Ram Singh’ will be used by a Khshatriya.
Because of casteist divisions in Indian society many people belonging to ‘lower’ castes try to hide their identity and start using names which are common among Khshatriyas like Singh, Chauhan, Thakur etc. But it really doesn’t work. One can easily figure it out.
*So far as the appearance of people is concerned people belonging to Northern States of India and East of Present day Pakistan have similar features. But as you move towards South India people have dark complexion and features very different. Some of you who work in Middle East can see many South Indians and probably that’s the reason people in pakistan have a different perception about the appearance of Indians. *
North Eastern India…You will find people with chinky features…half closed almond shaped eyes.
One cannot define this country by looking at the faces of few people.
Bollywood will always select gori chitti women. If they spot one such dame in South Indian film industry…she will be pulled into Bollywood.
