Did your education help you?

I know …I know it got you a job…
But at job you help some ones else business/plan and get paid.

Did your work helped ““you””

You can say I am doctor and when I had headache, I gave my self medicine.
Or I am carpenter and made my self chair.
Stuff like that.

Go on please.

Re: Did your education help you?

yes, tremendously! when i visit India, i advise the local farmers. sometimes, i get calls from folks back home looking for solutions to their agricultural problems, mostly soil and crop related. :)

Re: Did your education help you?

^
You're another victim of the system I see.... lol

Re: Did your education help you?

I'm gonna make my kids take a 3 years break from "education" after their A-levels because I believe during those years they should be working or volunteering instead of taking out a huge loan, besides you have to have the maturity and experience before you enter a University. Mature students take their education more seriously.

Re: Did your education help you?

^very good idea. You need to be an all rounded person, not just academically savvy

Re: Did your education help you?

At 18 you'd expect them to be ready/prepared for education. I think It's irrational to make them take 3 years out. I guess you haven't heard of the new system in place.

Re: Did your education help you?

yeah especially now that fees have risen ridiculously high.

Re: Did your education help you?

Sorry what about the new system?

Re: Did your education help you?

They don't need to take loans out. Everything is paid for including grants etc. They start paying it back when they earn certain amount. It's not ideal but it will allow people to study rather then complain about not being able to afford it.

Re: Did your education help you?

How many houses can an architect design for himself? How much code can a developer write for utilities that are for personal use?

Even if someone has gone solo, people are helping others, as a programmer, CPA, consultant, chef, photographer, whatever.

Regardless of who is paying for your time, you are always working for yourself, using your skills and getting paid for it, and building more skills and experience.

Re: Did your education help you?

^You don't need to be a doctor for that. Even a hobo can pop a painkiller for a headache.

Re: Did your education help you?

Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.

Imagination needs knowledge to become a reality.
